My DD's, 4 and 6, and I are taking an unexpected trip to the LA area this week. We will have Thursday free. We are DLR vets and just got back from WDW in Feb! :cool1: So we've had our recent disney fix.

Is it worth is for us to go to DLR for just the day?

Pros:
It's Disneyland! :thumbsup2
The weather should be lovely.
We may not get there again for several months.

Cons:
It's spring break and very busy.
We do not have EE/MM entry and it is a MM day.
We'd be driving in and parking at the structure.
It's expensive for 3 1-day tix (not sure if we would hop to DCA or not).
My kids cannot take advantage of the late hours, as they get too tired, and we are not staying close by.

Any other ideas of what we could do in the area instead of DLR?
We are staying in the Long Beach/Cerritos area.

TIA!

I can't help with other suggestions...if I am that close to DL, I am drawn like a moth to flame. :lmao: I would have to go, even just for a day. But I can understand why that might not be easy for you with kids that age and with the travel involved. You mention that you might be back within several months, do you have a trip(s) planned over the next year?

Don't I know it!!!

do you have a trip(s) planned over the next year?

We don't have any planned now. We live in central CA, about 7 hours by car, so it's not too tough to get down there. I wanted to go in Nov or Dec this year to see the Christmas decorations.

welllll...if it were me...I'd say GO!

Clearly I've come to the wrong place to get someone to talk me out of going! :lmao:

I knew there was a reason I loved the DIS!

I don't know if it is in your budget, but if you are going to be back in the next 12 months for at least five days, maybe consider buying APs?

I know you were looking for alternatives, and here I am pitching that you should buy the biggest pass, lol...but at least then you could justify the cost spread over time, and since it would also be an investment in the next trip or two, it wouldn't be a 'waste' of money if your kids couldn't make it through a long day this time around. You would also be able to park hop, so you could try Nemo and then go see the new parade at DCA...

Yeah, I guess this is the wrong place to look for a reason not to go...:lmao:

This is definitely the wrong place to look for discouragement! LOL

You're not that much farther away than I am....I'm 6 hours away in the Bay Area....we upgraded to AP's last year when we went and we've been averaging a trip a month lately! LOL Something to consider.....and ya, we are Disney Crazy! LOL
