Is one day enough at Universal?

I have been to Universal before but it was about 8 years ago so many things have changed. My husband has never been.
We will be at WDW for 7 days and were going to go over to Universal for a day. Can we do it in a day? (We will not be going to IOA.)
We also do not want to rush through it but were hoping that we could do it in a day.
We don't have kids so it would just be the two of us.

If your not doing IOA, then most likely.

It depends on the crowds, if it is not really crowded, you should have no problem, but if its crowded, then you might get some trouble, especially with ROTM and Shrek

We are going Nov 18th (thurs) so we are hoping it will not be too crowded.

I go every month and still haven't seen Shrek. That line just never seems to let up no matter what time of year it is. Even when it is so slow and you can pretty much walk on everything else Shrek will be like an hour wait! That much be a really good show!

I think the Shrek phase has been extended because of the movie Shrek 2, but maybe that's just my opinion. November should be an okay time to visit...not too crowded, since it's before Thanksgiving crowds and such.

Just be sure to check out some of the shows, they are all great...whether you see Horror Makeup Show, Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue, Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters, etc....but with a day's time, you may not be able to fit it into your schedule, because park hours aren't all that long during that time of year..

I will say that we were worried about doing it in one day since the park closed early that time of year. We were hoping that the crowds would be low so it would be ok

As long as you arrive to the parks early so as to be one of the first ones in, you should be able to do everything in one day. Hit Shrek first, get express passes for Jimmy Neutron on your way to the Mummy, then do MIB (use MIB's Single Riders line if the wait is longer than 10 minutes) and BTTF. (The other attractions usually have shorter lines than those listed above.) Time a Ghostbuster Show so that when it is over, you can ride the Mummy a second time utilizing the Single Riders line, then do Twister while in that area.
It's amazing how much you can get done when you arrive early to the parks! We plan our lunch so that we are close to the attraction we want to do next. Time a BeetleJuice Graveyard Revue for the afternoon when you are in that area for Earthquake and Jaws. I would probably see a late afternoon Horror Make-up Show, then Terminator on the way out. Do not miss the Horror Make-up Show.

I'm going to do my part to help out the line on Shrek by not going on it any more. I've seen it enough times.

Thanks all
We are going to try and hope for the best and do it in one day.
We will be getting there when the park opens so hopefully with that and going during a lower season we should be ok.
We are not staying on site since we are staying at WDW so we won't have head of the line. Once again... hoping that since it is the low season that we will be ok.
