Is one autograph book enough?

I have an 8yo and 4you when we go to Disney this summer. Do you think they should just share one autograph book and maybe just take turns..if they youngest one wants to do it? It would probably be too much hassle for the characters to sign twice for one family right?

Also, how much room is there for pressed pennies in the pressed penny books? How many different pressed pennies are we likely to get at WDW?

Thanks

The characters will sign for however many kids in your family have books. Maybe my dds are more competitive or something but they could NEVER share an autograph book. They both loved the "alone" time with the characters while they were signing adn then posing for pictures.

We got each of our kids their own autograph books during our last trip, and will again get each one their own books during our next trip. They both love having their own and walking up to the character with the books to sign. The characters don't mind signing multiple books from the same family (at least I don't think so!). I, personally would not expect my kids to share the same autograph book...but that's just me.

Nope- they should probably have their own books. My kids just brought them down for the first time ever (we usually don't wait on line for autographs- but my ds wanted them for meals). We made one for each of them and my dd2 used hers to color in but gave it up to the princesses and June to sign. It's not a huge expense so I would get them their own.

I agree with the others. I have 3 children and they each had their own books. They are probably one of the cheapest things you can buy at the parks.

I would get each child his/her own book. I've got four kids, and could never imagine any of them having to share a book. They like to look through their own book. Also, there are a few characters who will actually write your child's name when they sign. We just make sure that each child has their book open and ready to hand to the characters so we're not tying up the line longer than necessary. We do, however, just share a pen (although it is handy to have an extra if you run into two characters at once).

Have fun.

Thanks everyone for the info. I know the books are not that much money. I am trying to decide if I want to make them each one with their own names on it or even let them decorate their own. But I also wanted to send one of those baskets to the room that had gifts in it and was going to include the books in that.

I saw they have a book that has the characters pics right in it and they sign the page with their picture on it. My thinking about that is, what if we don't find a lot of the characters? Half of them I don't even know! Any tips on making our own books if I decide to do that? My soon to be 8 yo is an EXTREAMLY good artist. He could probably draw all the characters himself by looking at a picture.

Thanks again!

my kids had there own...we filled it and we had to buy more..we filled them and had to buy a third at universal...we bought the ones where you do the pic on one side and auto on other

My kids have there own. I don't plan on buying the baby one yet till hes at least 3. Even this years trip, at 2 he will have no concept of what he is doing. I'll just take a notebook along incase he want's to be like his brothers.

If you can afford it I would get one for each child. We bought two books and Mickey Mouse pens as soon as we entered the MK. My son loves Ariel, he is 3 and says she is beautiful. He just stares at her picture in the corresponding page to the autograph. My daughter who is older just thinks it is really neat to get her book out and look at it.

One for each kid, it's only 'fair' and you know you will be called on it if you don't have it! ;)

As for the younger kids having autograph books, we had one for DD2.5 in Dec. and even though she could care less about getting the signatures, it was an "ice breaker" for her to approach the characters. I would hand it to her and tell her to give it to Minnie (or whomever). It gave her a reason to get close, plain and simple. After that, she was already standing there, so why not have a picture too, right? :goodvibes

Oh, and the pressed penny book holds 64 pennies. You will get as many as you can afford--they are EVERYWHERE! Each country in Epcot has machines, each land in MK, etc. DD's book is half full. If you are using the M&M containers to carry your coins, they hold 'about' $13 worth of 'opportunities.'

The book does not hold the pressed quarters, not that we have a lot of those. (They are currently residing in the treasure chest from POTC! :rotfl:) However, we had a difficult time finding certain characters (Sleeping Beauty, Nemo, etc.) in the penny presses so if we found them in the quarter presses, Mom had to 'splurge!'

Sleeping Beauty pressed quarter + this Mom=sucker :rolleyes1

Thanks for all the info. I am definitely going to look into the pressed penny book and start saving my quarters :o).

I agree...1 book per child. My DD usually goes fills 3 books each trip.

I made one for each of my 3 younger kids who wanted to do autographs. BUT, I'm only going to do one form now on. It takes a long time for each character to sign 3 books... I kinda feel guilty with the long line behind us. Plus one is easier to tote than 3 or more!

I have 4 kids and each of my kids have their own autograph book. They love to look through them.

My oldest DD and I made ours (the link is in my signature) and the characters loved them (so do the kids)
