Is Ohana worth it?

I second going through touring plans and having them stalk a ressie for you. It's free (just need to register) and it's so easy. They let you know when they've found one and you need to jump on it quickly, but it is possible. I JUST got a BOG dinner on Friday that I've been stalking for months with no luck. In one day because of touring plans, I finally have one!

I thought Disney is blocking 3rd party ADRs?

They don't hold the ressie for you, just let you know there is one available. You still have to jump on it ASAP to grab it otherwise it goes to the first person who gets it.

'Ohana can be very worth it. However it has been one of the most inconsistent restaurants. Sometimes it is wonderful and other times it has been just ok. Unfortunately you just don't know what you're going to get.

Well this explains why I couldn't any decent meal times for my ADRs. I was really upset on my 180 days out date.

I will not pay a third party. I already feel like I am gouged enough as it is.

You don't have to pay for it, only be a registered member on the site. And they aren't doing anything but checking and notifying people when it's available. It's a great service, and helped me get everything I wanted at times I wanted without constantly checking the website.

We enjoyed Ohana a lot, kids thought the coconut races were a blast, server was friendly. Food was hot and fresh. Bread pudding to die for. We plan to go again this year.

OHana is a must do for my family. We have been lucky and have not had the issues that some of the folks on this site have had.

image.jpeg We've had good experiences there & we've gone three or four times recently. Like many others said you'll find it's a hit or miss kind of place.
But I bet you'll find everyone agrees the dessert is to-die-for! This is from our trip in August :)

It's been my tradition to go to Ohana on every single trip because I was blown away on my first visit. Since then, service has been hit or miss but the food is consistently excellent IMO.

I was able to get a 9:45 pm dinner reservation, hopefully I can get a better time. I hope the food is fresh that late at night.

This is one of the most popular questions asked about O'hana. This restaurant remains very popular for an array of reasons from food, atmosphere, location etc. No matter what changes alter the Ohana experience this place books out as there are always new families starting to visit WDW. Overall, negative reviews exist for every Disney restaurant due to food, menu downgrading, servers, table location, other guest, etc. O'hana remains popular and I am not sure worth it is part of this equation more than Disney is a destination of new parents who feel the need to take their toddlers to Disney and feel compelled to make it perfect, other just want something close to MK, others want to dine here to watch fireworks, other like the Polynesian theme, while other for breakfast for the characters. Its a place to try at least once to experience for yourself and if dining with small children it is best to dine early to prevent the melt down situation.

Can someone tell me how much dinner is per person? I believe it is an all you care to eat service but the MDE shows a price range of $35-60 and I wondered why?

Touring Plans is not operating the way the third party bots were operating. ADR's are not all scooped up daily, and hen sold to folks who need them. ALl you need to do is register with TP. There is no charge.

We've eaten there twice and I really liked it, but I love grilled meat. It is a lot of food though. We had the dining plan both times but our next trip we are not getting the dining plan and we talked the other day and I think we've decided to pass on O'hana this time. My youngest will be 10 when we go and he'll definitely not eat enough to make it worth it. But I will miss their dessert.

We are getting our DD a quick serve for that night. (I think the age of 9 cut off for dining is stupid!)

I have the same concern...can anyone who has had a late reservation there speak on this? How is the atmosphere and food for those with reservations after 9:30?

It's worth it for us because we travel with older teens. As the podcast's recent review mentioned, the highlight for us is the apps and not the meats. They are only good when coated in peanut sauce.

I personally think it's worth it, for the food, the ambiance and the kids have a lot of fun with the show/coconut races. I had one experience with spotty service, but other than that we've had a great experience.

YES!
We go every trip. It's been awesome this year.
Reservations very often become available 1-3 days before the day as people cancel reservations. Keep looking!
