This is my first post. I've been reading the posts but just registered the other day. My husband and I were thinking about going in Sep (but not Labor Day weekend) for the weekend. Is that time crowded at the parks and the resorts? Is there a good, less crowded weekend to go?

We have a wedding to go in Orlando and would like to stay at Disney World for that weekend. We probably won't get to go the parks because wedding in late afternoon and we would leave Sun. Maybe we could go to Blizzard Beach on Sat. Is it too cold at that time of year? We live in South Florida so anything can be cold for us. Also, the reception looks like it's close to the airport. Do you know how far the airport is from Disney? We will have a car because we'll be driving up from S. FL.

We usually go to Disney in Dec, Jan, March or Nov so I'm unfamiliar with Sep and Oct.

Thank you for your help!

I'm from Melbourne--and even though you are from S. FL--you'll still find it warm enough for waterparks in Sept. (even most of Oct). Also--Sept/Oct are great months for no crowds!! Being a Floridian--if you can deal w/ the heat--you'll love how quiet it is.
Not sure where in S. FL you are from--but if you live on the coast (like us here in Melb.) and are used to seabreezes--keep in mind the air can be pretty motionless (no breezes!!!) in Orlando which can make things a little warmer feeling (probably not compared to S. FL though!!!). At any rate--like I said--Sept/Oct (not including Labor Day weekend) are QUIET!!!

October wasn't crowded last year which is the reason we're going back in October this year (beginning the 15th as a matter of fact). Even the evening of the Halloween party was mildly hot past midnight.

Thanks for the info.

gassmandy, we live in Boca Raton close to the beach so we're used to that ocean breeze too. I went to college in Gainesville and know the middle of the state is brutal in the summer because there's no breeze. But I couldn't remember how hot it is in Oct. One of the reasons we like going in Dec and Jan is for the cooler weather.
