Is news about to drop tomorrow?

Just booked Christmas 2021 with my TA. They reached out tonight to say that while they received my booking and the room is being held on their end, they’re not going to send through my deposit for reasons they can’t mention yet.

At first it sounded ominous, but then I figured they’d need to let me know if something bad was going to happen, right?!

That makes me think either a discount is coming or perhaps news surrounding Disney that would affect reservations.

am I thinking too far into it?

Ticket discount begins tomorrow. Disney could always be releasing another discount tomorrow too.

That’s strange. I had no trouble booking for Thanksgiving directly on the Disney site last week.

TAs can hold a room for a couple days without having to process the deposit. If the deposit isn’t paid by the deadline the room will be cancelled by Disney and put back into inventory. The general public can’t do this. This way a TA can give a client a guaranteed quote- as long as the deposit is paid by the deadline. With how tight Disney inventory can run this ability can be very important as you don’t want to be calling your client to demand a deposit the moment you see the room they want.

I’d be very surprised if Disney is releasing holiday discounts in the next couple days seeing as the 2 day ticket special only goes through 9/25/21. Another alternative if this is a big agency is the agency has a deal they’re doing with Disney in the next couple days so the TA may want to see if that comes to be. I can’t imagine it’s bad news, if a hotel wouldn’t be open I’d want to book my client now and see what Disney offers seeing as many people get upgraded when that happens.

In addition to the ticket deals that where know, a room only discount dropped today as well - but just for the spring so this wouldn't impact booking next December - so might be something specific to that TA?

come to think of it you’re probably right. I believe this TA may get special rates as they have in the past. Fingers crossed for everyone, though. I forgot how expensive a Disney vacation is!

Nothing. Makes me think my TA may have been working on a deal with Disney that fell through. Oh well. Here's to hoping some sort of deal pops up at some point.
