Is "nekkid" a bad word?? need help with definition :)

I always just figured that the person didn't know how to spell naked right and was sounding it out and spelling it that way!

It's a funny way to spell naked so that you say it like it's spelled, which makes the word really funny.

I think of it more like up to mischief, but not up to naughty "adult" things...could just be a toddler that you just got dressed going to their room to put on their shoes, and comes out NEKKID, running through the house being happy about their state of nudeness. :)

But I guess I could hear it as "adult" naughty too, but that's not the first thing that comes to mind. :goodvibes

As the wise, late, great southern philosopher Lewis Grizzard said:

NAKED means you do not have any clothes on...........

NEKKID means you do not have any clothes on & are UP to somethin'!!!

I thought of this as soon as I read the OP.

I miss Lewis Grizzard.

LMAO that mom has to much time on her hands!

Nekkid is the future perfect tense of to neck; to neck, to have necked, to be nekkid.

Ha ha. I would tell the conservative mom to tell her brother to get his mind out of the gutter.

I think the name of the band is cool! :thumbsup2

for the record, I found lots of definitions of "naked"

# bare: completely unclothed; "bare bodies"; "naked from the waist up"; "a nude model"
# having no protecting or concealing cover; "naked to mine enemies"- Shakespeare
# (of the eye or ear e.g.) without the aid of an optical or acoustical device or instrument; "visible to the naked eye"
# devoid of elaboration or diminution or concealment; bare and pure; "naked ambition"; "raw fury"; "you may kill someone someday with your raw power"
# lacking any cover; "naked branches of the trees"; "lie on the naked rock"

I'm just glad to see that there are still fans of the great Lewis Grizzard. He was the best!
(Apparently some of y'all know Darlene!):rotfl:

:rotfl2:

Being from the South as well I totally agree with the above!

LOL Im from the North and would agree Nekkid is just silly spelling for naked.

with intent.... ROFL I am picturing a lawyer arguing "Sir he was not NAKED he was NEKKID!"

Nekkid, is just a humorous way of saying naked to me.

I don't know where she came up with the "naked with intent" part.

Is it BAD that the only thing I think of when I hear this is "It's Me Again, Margaret" by Ray Stevens?

It's me again, Mar-gret! Are ya nekkid?:lmao:

I agree with Lewis Grizzard - nekkid is being unclothed with the intent to do something sexual as a result of that nekkidness.

:rotfl: The visual image of this just cracked me up. And the funniest thing is, I can see it actually happening.

Once again, the Dis has come to my rescue. With both humor and wisdom you guys have put this to rest. Nekkid is just a silly or "naughty" way of saying naked. I know both the mom and daughter would like the name of the band changed but that is NOT going to happen. The daughter was seriuosly trying to strongarm the other members of the band yesterday into changing the name. And the mom has mentioned to me several times that she wasn't completely happy with the name. They're good people but we have very different views and very different ideas about what's funny.
The girl needs to seriously think about starting her own band with it's own name.... hey "Naked with Intent" is a great name for a band :cool1:

:lmao:

Well we have a "band" started called "Hummingbirds of Destruction".

Me and the dd's wrote a song togther.:lmao: I will have to find the lyrics.;)

Naked with intent. :lmao:

I always thought it was just a funny way of spelling it. When I spell it as "nekkid" I have no intent. But I'm old and not hip to this stuff.

I was thinking the same thing!!! :lmao:

DH and I say that to each other all the time. ;) "Are you nekkiiiiiiid?"

I definitely wouldn't consider it a bad word. It's just fun to spell and pronounce it that way.
