Is my husband the only one that will fly backwards?

My husband travels a lot, and he is a little particular about what airlines he flies on. Now would anyone else do this: DH was in Mexico City, had to fly to Chile. He had a choice of flying American Airlines (flies AA when ever possible) or Air Chile (or something Chile). So rather than fly Air Chile out of Mexico he takes AA, but has to fly to Miami first then to Chile. This time though there was a bad weather pattern around Miami, so he was able to get AA to Dallas then AA to Chile. Now he does travel first or business class, so at least he is more comfortable, but I think he is nuts to fly backwards just to go forward. Would anyone else do this just to avoid certain airlines?

Sometimes scheduling forces you to do some weird flying-it does seem wasteful though, doesn't it?

It isn't a scheduling thing with him, it's an airline thing. I think it is sheer lunacy to fly like this. We aren't talking a little out of the way, I think it takes about 10 hours from Dallas, so factor in flying back from Mexico............. He's nuts! He does this all the time!!!!

Those must be SOME peanuts they have in the AA business class lounge! :D

I can only speak from personal experience, but I flew the National Carrier for Paraguay a few years ago, and believe me, I would 'fly backwards' in a heartbeat to avoid them. To say it was a scary flight is an understatement. Maybe something like that figured into the equation for your DH.

debster812, I know that it does figure in many of his travel arrangements! He has been on some really bad flights, but sometimes I wonder if he is slightly paranoid LOL! I guess when you have been on foreign flights where the aircraft and the pilots were questionable you get paranoid. I am one to talk, I'm not one to fly at all anymore!

I had friends tell me of flying on the Egyptian national airline. They only fly on US airlines now.
