so our plan is pop for 7nights, 8days. i plan on getting 6day tickets as arrival day will be late at night. 10-26 to 11-2

so i can do Disney with a $4000 budget not including flight??

I hope i can get free dinning since we are going late oct, and was possibley thinking about mnsshp but unsure about cost wise if we can. :confused3
It will be me and my 2 kids 11 and 8yrs.

I also have a target card so i can get cheaper Disney gift cards, i signed up for southwest cc to get the points for free flights, i also have a Disney cc and $15 Disney gift card.

also i need this to cover our souvenirs and extra food out side of the dinning plan.

so all of you helpful people i await your Disney wisdom. :worship:

I think your budget is more then enough especially since that doesn't include airfare.

If you can get free dining that would easily cover it. I am looking at December 1-8 with 7 day PH tickets and Sat-Sat stay at Pop with my airfare for a little over $3,000 if I can get free dining.

Easily with Free Dining, Doable without Free Dining.

We just went with Free Dining - 2 adults, 2 kids - Stayed at POP for 7 nights...It was about $2200. Throw in another $150 for tip money for our table service places (we upgraded to Basic Dining Plan from Quick Service). We rarely spend anything other than on occassional beer above and beyond the dining plan - so maybe a total of $100 in 'extras' and that is a high estimate.

Kids brought $30 of their own money plus Mom/Dad always buy them one thing each....Maybe total about $150 in sovenier money.

Our airfare was about $900 total. So I would say we were in the area of $3400 total even including airfare.

I hope so! That's more than my budget. Sorry, not helpful, but true!

Yes. :) We did the same tickets, DxDP, Pop, and airfar + extras with that much (and we had the same amount of people).

With airfare from Texas, I stayed 8 nights at the BWV with 7 day park hoppers for 2 adults, 1 child, and 1 infant for $4,200. And that comes with a wife addicted to buying souvenirs as presents for dozens of family and friends, and renting a double stroller from Magic Strollers, getting a PhotoPass CD, airport parking, no free dining, tips, etc. Renting DVC points is the way to go if you can't get a "free" dining.

Very doable...even without free dining. However, keep in mind that you actually only have one "child" and one Disney "adult" for ticket/dining purposes. I have myself, my DH, and 2 children and can stay under $3,000 without flights. Honestly, not a huge fan of "free" dining. Unless you are a child, I can actually eat less expesive paying OOP.

how do you save with the Target Card? I know you get 5% off purchases, but does that include gift cards? Also, are the Disney gift cards at the store or do you have to buy them online? Sorry, not really related to your question, I just did not know. Thanks!

target had $50 gift cards you can buy with your target cc or debit card and get %5 off each one :)

If you're going in October, check out the YES program and see if there are any classes your kids would like to go to. Saves about half the price of park tickets and kids get a great class! Then use a room-only discount (if available) at a value resort, pay OOP for food, and you should be able to do the whole trip, including airfare and extras, for about $4000 or less!

Yes, this is very, very doable even without free dining. In December, 2010 we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for 7 nights in a courtyard view room with bunkbeds, had 7-day park hoppers and our package total was around $2900. This was with a PIN code and without the dining plan. We spent about $4500 on that trip including airfare and all food. Now, we don't do many character dinners and we eat breakfast in our room most days and we aren't too into buying souvies.

If you are trying to stay on a budget you might want to look into renting DVC points and/or the Y.E.S. program for cheaper tickets. For our upcoming trip we rented 152 points at BCV for $10/point. Just yesterday I bought Y.E.S. tickets for 2 adults/2 kids for a total of $880. These are 8-day park hoppers with the water park option. I feel like this is a bargain trip for us compared to our trip last December.

Again, if your $4000 budget doesn't include airfare I think you'll be great!

I posted a nearly identical question about a month ago (except I have more people coming, and my $4K budget included transportation) -- I got some great tips. Check out the thread here:

With the help of all these awesome DIS buddies, I'm making it happen. Good luck!
