Okay. I just pushed the trip back to December. MVMCP is available 4x during the stay. Worth it? I need opinions because I am trying to influence people!

Well I did this with my kids back in Dec. 1997. I feel that everyone should at least do this once. I loved seeing the snow falling on Main Street. They give free hot chocolate and cookies. So I guess my answer is yes, it is worth it.

Thanks, noseybuddy! I like the sounds of it already!

Anybody else?

we did it once, will never do again, for us the only difference was the parade, we tried it and did not like it but we learn from trial and error some people love it. You just need to decide and experience it for yourself, some people will tell you it was worth the money i do not feel it was worth the money

Thanks, HappyLawyer. I like a mix of opinions. It's the truth; not everybody will like it.

I think that you should attend at least one time and see for yourself. I totally agree with HappyLawyer, some people love it and others will say that it isn't worth the extra money. We have been and will not return, but please don't let that influence your decision. We felt that it was a little chaotic and much more crowded than we expected. :)

I agree that everyone should try it once. Last year, we experienced the Halloween party and the christmas party. The halloween party won hands down in our opinion. Snowing on main street was great. But, you can experience that at the Osbourne Lights at MGM. That is certainly a don't miss. So, now that I have confused you completely, I would say do it because you have never done it before.

We went in 2002. It was part of our big Christmas with parents at WDW. My husband and I liked it a lot. We enjoyed more time on the rides. My mom liked the parade and my father did not like it at all. The snow was wonderful, the hot chocolate was hard to find and the picture stations were a little chaotic. That said I would do it again. You should try it once just to have the experience. :flower:

We have gone twice now and it's so much fun! For starters, it snows on Main Street! Christmas Carols are playing, CM's are festive, the energy in the air is wonderful! Tons of rides are open and you basically get to walk right on which is great! The shows are special, the parade is special and really long. There are cookies and cocoa for everyone, Santa, and so much more. The fireworks are even special as well. I wouldn't miss it! :dancer:

Thanks. I think we'll go for the experience.

Is it really that crowded? I mean, I've had to deal with some pretty large crowds at Cedar Point (America's Roller Coast). How much bigger is it?

Oh-Dana, thanks for the reply!
msmouse- I totally followed you in that conversation!

Thanks, 4theloveofdisney! It sounds truly wonderful!

faeflora-That sounds like Cedar Point on a HalloWeekend! I get it! Thanks!

This Dec will be our 3rd time going to MVMCP. We have never had problems with the crowd, but we always go on a Thursday night. DD absolutely adores the parade. She gets to stay up and watch it 2x. I would definitely recommend it. HTH

It's always a highlight of our December trip.

Couple of tips to make the most of it:

1. You can get in after 4:00 with just your MVMCP ticket and get your wristbands. That gives you a jump on the party, it usually is not crowded then.

2. At 6:00, while the rest of the park is cleared of day guests, Tomorrowland is open. They will only let you on rides if you have the wristband. Good time to get your free photo done there also. After that, head to the back of the park, everything is walk-on there (last year we were about to walk into Fantasyland at 6:45).

3. If possible, see the second parade (usually about 10:45). The first parade is much more crowded.

There are people who only get there at 7:00, immediately find a spot for the 8:15 parade, sit for an hour waiting, and then complain everything is crowded after that. If you do it that way, you probably will not have a good time.

They limit the number of tickets sold, so it is not anywhere near as crowded as the day time. When DH and I went 3 years ago it was wonderful! We walked right on all the rides, ate cookies and drank hot chocolate to our fill! The picture taking was a chaotic, but that was the only "negative". The feel of being in the MK with the snow falling on Main Street, the music and singing, the decorations, the .... JOY! We are going back! Last 2 years we have gone in November because of the specials that were offered, and were sorry we didn't go in December and see MVMCP again. So, this year we are going back in December! :goodvibes

Thanks! That makes me feel AWESOME because I want to go and see it! It just depends on our financial situation (which will hopefully be good!!)

Thanks for the tips! They're awesome and we might just have to try them!

I think it depends on when your trip is as to whether it's worth it or not. If you are going to be there before Christmas week(and LEAVE before Christmas week) then it's worth it because it's your only chance to see all the Christmas parades etc. However, when we went last year, our trip started the week before Christmas during the party and ended into Christmas week. That meant we paid extra to do things at the party that we could have done for free the rest of our trip. We didn't realize they were the same things as the halloween party has things ONLY for the party. Consider this when purchasing the tickets.

Thanks! We've never been before, so it should make lots of good memories!
