I am sure this is fun, and as usual Disney probably does a great job with this event.

Our daughter is 6, and we have been thinking about taking her to the Halloween party, but geez, for the 3 of us it will be @ $150 dollars. It's a lot of extra money considering we will be spending 5 days in the parks already.

Help me with this one, did you really feel it was worth it?

Thanks

It is our favorite event at Disney. My spouse and I dress up each year. The parade and fireworks is great. Love the character greats too. Definitely worth trying at least once.

Although - am not a big halloween fan, (and slightly prefer MVMCP) I'll vote YES
The parade's awesome. Bigger fireworks (watch infront of the castle) you get to wear costumes and go trick r treeting. Its a blast for that child's age!

Definitely worth doing once - my kids were 8 & 11 last year and had a blast. Would I spend the money to do it again? Probably not. We'll wait til next year and try the Xmas party.

Love it!! The BOO to You Parade is the only one that my family will actually stop to see.

We love it too and always dress up. Dress up as a family and you'll have a blast!

As a slight financial bonus, you do not need a park ticket for your MNSSHP day, and can use those special tickets to get in MK @4pm.
You can also get enough candy to last you the rest of your trip (while $20 may get you more candy at a store, I notice a fairly big variety in the past. You probably would have to spend a tickets worth to get that variety... And being from the midwest it is interesting to see some east coast brands I do not see @ home.

If we have non-exp park passes, we always do it. It is actually a bargain compared to regular ticket prices.
But if we have an AP, we don't think it is worth the money.

Yes, it is worth going to at least once. My DH and I love to do people watching as some of the costumes are really fantastic. Visitors go all out and are very creative! The trick or treating is a lot of fun, too. Even adults get to trick or treat. The parade is my favorite with the headless horseman and the grave diggers marching with their shovels.

The weather is generally good when we go in October. We love the Christmas party, too, but weather is much more iffy for that in December.

We love it! When my kids were younger we always dressed up as a family in themed costumes. It's well worth the ticket price.

Thanks for the replies. I would not want to miss out on something that is really done well - just seemed a bit steep on the ticket prices. Looks like I'll be talking to the wife about this one!

This year we will be trying the MMVCP and next year we will be doing the MNSSHP. I will be there will my DS6 and DN10 and we plan to do our trick-or-treating at MK. I'd like to dress up myself and join in on the fun. My parents will be with us and my Dad will be joining us at the party (Mom is handicapped and has no interest in going to the parks.) I'm going to try to get Dad to dress up too!

Go and enjoy!!!

we've done it 2x's and loved it. we are going to miss it this year:(
the parade is great and hallowishes is awesome:thumbsup2
enjoy!

we've been buying non-expiry tix & stetching them for 2 trips, using party days to pad our time in park. Not quite the deal it used to be, but DH & I still really enjoy the joyous atmosphere, some very elaborate guest costumes & parade/hallowishes even without small kids in tow.:thumbsup2

The 1st special MK party we went to was the Pirates and Princess Party. I decided to spend the extra $150 (DH, DGD and me) when I read Capt. Jack would be there. (DGD(4) was in luuuv with CapnJack :lovestruc).

It was so worth it. The event extas, the DJ parties, photo ops with characters in special costume and lighter crowds with short wait times for rides. I would have recommended the special event tickets to anyone. Which is why I jumped on buying the Christmas party tickets - and was so disappointed.

Instead of the crowds dropping off dramatically, people started pouring into the already crowded park. It was crowded chaos, and while many extras were to be had, it was a mad crush trying to access them. My opinion - if you can aim for a date that's traditionally less crowded, the MK parties offer a lot of great extras.
