Is MNSSHP worth it?? Should I???

My DH and I have suprised our mothers with a trip to Disney 9/17- 9/23. We have never attended a MNSSHP and wondered if we should do this or not since we wont be traveling with any children and our mothers probably wouldn't ride alot of the rides. However, I have heard that it is an opportunity to take alot of neat photo's, but is it worth the extra $160.00 for us to go?? We have plans for dinner at Lecellier and was planning to watch the Illuminations afterwards but should I make some changes so that we can attend this or just keep our plans as such? Our flight doesn't leave until around noon the next day and I am not sure if our young mothers (68 year young) would feel like staying out till 11:00 or midnight? Please help me with this decision as I am not sure if I should spend the extra $$ and if we would get a big bang for our buck? I would love to hear some opinions please!!

It's hard for someone else to give advice on whether its worth the $$ to you. That being said, my Mom (age 71) has been to MNNSHP party twice and is raring to go this year again! We don't do many rides during the Party. Rather we try to experience the special events that they only do at the party - the parade, fireworks, trick-or-treating, etc.

Our plan for this year is to do a character meal in the morning (my 4-yr old niece is coming as well), then just chill out at the hotel in the afternoon. My Mom will definitely take a nap to rest up for the Party! We will try to get to the MK about 4pm and have dinner reservations at Crystal Palace at 5pm. In the past we stayed until about 11pm. This year we fly out at 7:30am the next morning so it will be a short night for us!

My Mom absolutely LOVES the 360 degree fireworks. For her, it is worth the price of admission.
