There are 4 of us going to disney for 8 nights. We plan on spending 2 days in the MK. (first 8 days of October). We thought of visiting the first monday since its the day AFTER an EMH day..but wow on the prices!!!

Nearly 40.00 x 4...another 120.00! That just seems so steep to me for an extra few hours in the park. What besides tricker treating and the parade is going on that would be worth the extra 120?

Thanks :)

BTW...its me, my tubby hubby, 22 yr old daughter and my 10 yr old son. Thanks!

IMHO it is very fun, and considering your ages you could get a lot out of the party because you could stay until the end.

However, since you have two full days at Magic Kingdom without it, and you are concerned about the price....you could certianly have a great trip without it.

It is not worth it if you find that it will put a strain on your budget. However, if you can swing it, it is a blast. I liked it much better than the Christmas party. In my opinion, the parade and fireworks alone are worth the price.

I don't know if it will effect your budget but if you do MNSSHP then you could cut one of your 2 days. The parks are fairly quiet at the begining of Oct so you should be able to get on most rides at least once, you could then use the party to ride them all again. We really enjoy the party but that's maybe because Halloween isn't such a big thing in UK anymore. Most if not all the rides are open, every character is in fancy dress, various special shows, free photo, headless horseman to name but a few.
As your kids are a bit older it may be worth considering HHN at Universal, especially good if you like being scared witless!

We think so, the parade is better than the 3:00 parade and you get to see characters that you normally don't see during the day. We had a lot of fun and we have no kids, plus we don't dress up, we do enjoy watching everyone else!

Don't know what kind of tickets you have, but we usually just buy MNSSHP tickets and use those as a park day. We do non-park things during the day. You can enter the park after 4 pm and stay till the end, so we just look at it as a cheap park day. The lines are shorter than usual and you can ride most things several times.

I agree with the previous poster.
Arrive fairly early, and enjoy yourself.
The parade is special, the fireworks are too and very memorable. And the park has special decor. I think there is even a special dance area, free face painting, the headless hotrseman makes a run down the street after a storytelling in Liberty Square. And you will get a 5x7 for each purchased MNSSHP ticket. (It maybe one pose, but multiple 5x7's.) Until last year there was free fortune telling too.
So everything is subject to change.
Most rides are nearly walk on.

IMO MNSSHP is worth the $40 admission. Seeing people in costume, not just kids, but the characters also. It adds another dimension to the Disney experience.
Plus it makes me feel like a kid again, especially when I get to put on my ghost costume. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay:

Just 123 days until next visit to WDW. Going to MNSSHP on Oct 2 (May go again on Oct 6)

I went to MNSSHP this last October, I want to say it was the opening day for MNSSHP... I was really looking forward to it, I LOVE Halloween... We stayed at the hotel all day that day and then headed for the park around 4:00. So we had plenty of rest.

Let me just say - I don't know if it was because we didn't "know the place to be" or if it was really this crowded - but we couldn't get on any rides or eat in any restaurants. Everywhere we went there were just loads of people.

Maybe we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time - but we really didn't get to ride many rides - and everytime we saw an area for the kids to get candy, there was a really long line. My daughter (5) kind of gave up on the candy pretty early.

The parade was awesome though. The only complaint I have about the parade was the speed at which the "Headless Horseman" flies by. It was kind of a blur because he comes flying by at full speed it seems...

So anyway, I was a little dissapointed - maybe my expectations were a little high considering the price - I just thought it seemed crowded - almost like they sold too many tickets for that night.

All things considered I don't think I would do it again. IMO MVMCP is better done...

IMHO It's so worth it .We are doing MVMCP this year (may try to get MNSSHP in as well with small trip) but plan on doing each one every other year as our 2nd trip.

The candy alone was worth over $40 we spent.

That's a good point - the costumes on characters was very cool - and in the parade you get to see a lot of villains in the parade that you wouldn't normally get to see...

DH, DM, DMIL, DFIL, DBIL, and I went to this in 2004 and had the best time. While the youngest in our group was 27, we had a ball with the festivities. We arrived early, picked up our treat bags at the gate, then headed over to Tony's for an early dinner on the porch. We were able to watch guests arrive in their costumes (and saw them take the Boston Red Sox balloons offstage, since the World Series champion parade was a bit earlier). Then we strolled towards Tomorrowland for the start of the party. Main Street looked great, with lit pumpkins in the windows and other haunted decor. When the party started, we strolled towards Liberty Square to visit Haunted Mansion and the haunted riverboat ride. We had had a thunderstorm earlier in the evening, so it was spookily foggy, which added a great effect to the atmosphere. Along the way we stopped for our photo (very good!) and our first trick-or-treat stop. For the rest of the night, my mom would excitedly point out a trick-or-treat station whenever she saw one. For me, that was worth more than the price of admission. :) We loved the parade and the special Wishes, too. Long story short, I highly recommend it. We used the party day as a park day and didn't use our hopper pass for that day, opting instead to relax at the resort in the morning/afternoon. We were able to head in to MK around 4:30 with our dinner ADRs.

We really enjoyed MNSSHP last October. Just DH and myself and we went in costume...it was a rainy night and we were worried because of the weather, but the atmosphere was great!! The decorations and creepy music, and everyone in costume was wonderful!!! Later in the evening ALL rides were a walk on...one time DH and I were the only ones on Splash! If you can swing it, do it !! Disney knows how to throw a party and this one didn't disappoint! Make sure you do costumes along with the kids!!!! :wizard:

Will tickets for Halloween night be difficult to get, It is our day of arrival and are only chance to see MNSSHP. I've read that tickets for th last three days are held back for a while. Is this true - Any suggestions? :confused3

Halloween night is always a sell out and sold out by the end of Sept last year.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party - after hours Halloween party at Magic Kingdom.

If you know you are really going Halloween night, buy the tickets ahead. I would be very surprised if any are remaining even into October.
And Halloween night for candy lovers is the best night! By the end of the evning they hand out as much as you can carry just to get rid of it.
We take ours to work, give it away to whomever, and still throw some away after some months.
I loved the Alice in Wonderland walk through theme they had last year by the Tomorrowland speedway. (Started in Toon Town if I recall correctly.)

When you buy your tickets, you can also book LTT at the same time. And if you want sit down, I suggest that is what you do. Those without ADRs on MNSSHP nights will most likely be limited to counter service dining.

It's like any other day at WDW, to be fully enjoyed it requires a game plan if you want to do a lot. If you are just there to just leisurely enjoy the Halloween themes and specials, then it you are more apt to be able to enjoy yourselves with little or no planning.

Sometimes the lines for candy are long. But guests are literally just walking through. They move fast.

Thanks ya'll! I'll do it then. What is MVMCP? and what is LTT? Sorry if that sounds dumb :)

It's lots of fun, even more so if you dress up. Two years ago a bunch of nice DISers raised the funds for me to take the girls at the shelter I work at to MNSSHP and we had the best time. Adults and teens can let loose and act like kids again and it's great fun with all the special lights, music, etc.
