Is MM wasted on Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage?

I know we could do A LOT of Fantasyland during our MM, but Ridemax recommends doing the Nemo Ride during MM. Since we have only one MM, I am thinking that would potentially be a mistake. It would be a shame to wait for a line at finding Nemo for most of MM, and miss out on a lot of Fantasyland rides.

Ridemax recommends visiting Finding Nemo at the very END of the day, if you don't have MM. Would that be better?

Any advice on this? Maybe the Finding Nemo ride isn't as long as it used to be???

If you are there when it opens there is no wait. We start our MM day with Peter Pan.

It's not wasted if that's the ride you want to ride during MM...if that makes sense. Lots of people on this board recommend doing Peter Pan first, as it always has a long line.

We've caught Nemo in the evening before....the line isn't too bad during things like Fireworks, etc. so you may try that.

It depends on your priorities.

If you ride it with no wait, it takes about 3-4 times longer than the other rides open during MM. So you pass up a lot of quick rides elsewhere.

If you catch it at the end of MM it may or may not have a long line built up, I've seen it both ways. But you will pass up using the last 5 minutes of MM crossing the hub to get FPs for Indy or Splash before the heard of general guests stampede down mainstreet.

OH yes, I forgot about Peter Pan's long lines - and that's my FAVORITE ride (at least it was 15 years ago!). I think we'll head over to Fantasyland after all, and try to do Nemo on the first evening we're there (since we arrive in the afternoon, anyway). Better?

That's another excellent point...Fantasyland on MM it is!!!

Thanks for the help! That was a fast decision!

We walked onto Nemo during MM during Christmas but yes its a long ride. Another idea is to do Fantasyland up to 5 minutes before opening and then head to Nemo and send a runner to get FP's somewhere like SM or Indy. IMHO I think the line will be very manageable right at opening.

If you finish in Fantasyland early, head over to Nemo before the rest of the crowds get in. We did FL in about 40 minutes on our MM day (PP was closed for refurb and we don't do the Teacups). We decided to just enjoy the ambience of a quiet park and head towards Frontierland to be ready when everything opened. However, we could have easily gotten in line for Nemo at that point before the other crowds entered at 9. That might be the best of both worlds for you.

It can set you back on FP collection if you have to wait a bit, but it might be worth it to you.

I wouldn't waste a MM on Nemo. But on another day, hit it first and the line might not be bad, at least that's what we did last month and we basically had no wait. Good luck!

I love MM!!!

Yes.

We think Nemo is lame.

We start our MMs with PP followed by Dumbo and so on...

I agree.

If use up your MM just for Nemo, you will kick yourself later. I would do the FL rides first, and then move to Nemo while the line is shorter than it will be later in the day.

We did space mountain first then went through astro blasters, then Peter pan and other rides that we just liked when we had our MM. There were no lines for any of them so you should have time to get a bunch of those done.

The submarines kept breaking down when we wanted to ride them. We finally did, and it was fun but not worth all the trouble. I certainly wouldn't wait in line for it. If you want to do it then do it while there is no line. There are much better rides that are worth waiting for if you don't get them done in the MM time.

The Dobies personally find Nemo to be a major snore. I wouldn't waste a MM on it.

I have never waited longer than 15 mins for Nemo lately. Even on a Saturday night in October.

I very much enjoy the Nemo ride, even with my fear of enclosed spaces. :) But we will not wait for it, we always wait and ride it as our last ride of the day. As long as you are in line by 11:59 pm (or whatever:59) we are able to ride with no issues. And then you get off and get to walk thru a nearly deserted park on your way out. :)

Here's the thing with Nemo, there are some things you are just going to wait in line to enjoy. if you are going to wait in a line, wait in line while you are not missing out on anything else.

Ride Nemo at the very end of the night. Be in line 5 minutes before Park closing and no matter how long the line is, you WILL ride. The only thing you are "missing" at that point by waiting in line is shopping on Main Street - which is fun too, but a completely different topic. :goodvibes

Save it for the end of the day, that's my advice. :goodvibes

Our personal experience was that it will take up your whole Magic Morning. Unless you are running for the very first sub, you will wait in line for awhile because they will not be running all the subs then. It's a slow loader/unloader and a long ride itself. When we did it DH and the kids barely beat the rope-drop crowd onto Space Mountain, so it ate up our whole hour.

People on the DIS had warned about this, but I was determined not to wait forever for the ride some other time. I might have saved myself 15-20 minutes of a line some other time, but I wasted our MM.

The Peter Pan line will build quick unless you are at the very front of the racing crowd, but there's really no better time to do it. Luckily everything else will still be very short when you get off.

I asked the same question as the OP before our most recent trip to DLR in July. Like the OP, I received recommendations of NOT wasting a MM on Nemo. I am so glad I listened!

Our family loves the FL rides. One morning (not a MM) we did happen to walk past the subs on the way to Tomorrowland, AFTER doing all the FL rides. The wait for Nemo as we passed was only 5 minutes, so we thought WTH, let's go now.

Personally, I was sorry we'd even wasted the 15 minutes it took to wait, board, and ride. It's probably officially my least favorite ride at DLR. In fact, I'll likely never ride it again. My kids (aged 5-18 on that trip) were just like, "meh" when we got off the ride. I don't think any of them will ever ask to go on it again.
