Is Milk available on Southwest?

Does anyone know if Southwest offers milk as a beverage choice?

We have a very tight connection in Albuquerque to get to Orlando and may not have time to get lunch at the Airport. I will be bringing food snacks but would really like the option of giving my 1 1/2 year old milk during the flight as we will have been up since 5 am and will not arrive in Orlando till 2:45 PM.

Just yesterday a friend of mine mentioned that a friend of hers was on a Southwest flight in late August and was not able to get milk for her one year old.

Nicole it doesn't look like you can buy milk on the flight.

You don't need to pay for non-alcoholic drinks on airlines. At least not on any I have flown.

Thanks. That is really too bad. I was hoping they would carry it due to beverage restrictions. She is no longer breastfeeding or using formula so I guess we will have to make due with water and apple juice even though she is a milk-a-holic!

We travelled in August with our 1 1/2 year old on Southwest to Orlando. SW does not offer milk during their flights. I brought a can of vanilla Pediasure for my son and it was allowed through security as 'baby formula'. It is a viable alternative for your little one, if she will drink it. My son has been tossing back a can every night in an effort to help him gain weight. Just a thought. Enjoy your trip!

SWA doesn't carry milk on their flights at all; I have been told that is because they do not have the on-board capacity to adequately refrigerate it. (SWA doesn't use beverage carts; they pour drinks in the galley and deliver them by carrying them on a tray.)

Me too. I understand that they may have reasons why they normally don't offer milk, but given the current situation, it would be nice if they'd help us out.

But that still doesn't magically bring enough refridgeration space onto the planes. Sometimes things get delayed - they could be left with spoiled milk. The beverages also have to get onto the planes and I bet it's not feasible to transfer the milk properly, either. What about powdered milk that can be rehydrated with water?
