Is mid-Nov too late to plan for 2/2003

So my girlfriend was supposed to hear by mid-october if she would be presenting at a physical therapy conference in tampa in mid-feb. Now she gets a call today from someone at our old college saying that they won't hear until mid-november.
We were planning on going to WDW for a week while we were down there.
I filled out a quote request last night for Dreams Unlimited, and was all set to click the submit button, but something made me not hit the "submit" button. Now i know why.
I personally think that if we wait until mid-novemeber to hear if she will be presenting at this p.t. conference, it'll be too rushed.
the other option i was thinking of, was going ahead as if she wasn't presenting, and book the trip (feb 6th-13th), without airfare, and worse comes to worse see if we can move the dates around.
Am I just being paranoid, about not having enough time from 4 weeks from now?
Any ideas?

Feb should be less than busy. I think you could wait.

But you can also book now and just cancel if it does not work out.

Last year we booked a mid-January trip about a month before. We had no problem getting the resort we wanted, great airfares and were able to take advantage of great resort codes as well. I don't think you will have any problem!

You shouldn'thave any problems, I booked our trip this past July in April. I was even able to change from Moderate to Deluxe two weeks before going and July is a busy time. January should be light as far as crowds go.

You can certainly wait until mid November. You will probably get a better deal that way anyway. February is not very crowded either - with the exception of President's Day weekend.
