Is Mickeys BBQ bearable in August???

We will be staying at Wilderness Lodge. I have a reservation for August 19th for the BBQ. Is it just too unbearable to enjoy this meal being its outside?? I read that there are fans all around and i will also be wearing a neck fan which i have found to be a lifesaver while in the parks. I would really like to keep my reservation for the BBQ as it would be something different since we arent doing Fantasmic that night. It seems Fantasmic would be more of a headache between having to eat early at a restaurant that isnt good, waiting around for hours for the show, and then the headache of having to get transportation back.

Honestly, it was pretty unbearable when we went in May....
We went a few years ago and there was no real 'relief' from the heat, even with the fans. It was pretty crowded, which seemed to make it worse, and , although you do enjoy the line dancing with the characters, you do work up a sweat. I found the whole evening to be a bit chaotic-long lines formed whenever the characters finished dancing , for autographs and photos, and there were many times during the "show" that there was nothing going on.
We've done HDDR every trip since then.......

Did it years ago..in May. Very much enjoyed it. Great especially for families with young kids. That being said..I wouldn't do it in August.
If you can..go to the Hoop-Dee-Do Revue instead. Much better option. Indoors, airconditined, food is good, great entertainment.

We have done it twice. The first time was in April, and my kids loved it. So much so that they begged to do it again last August when we went. I won't lie, it was really hot. BUT everything is hot in August and my kids still had a blast. So much so that they are already asking to go back on our next trip this fall......



I should add: yes, the kids were dripping in sweat while they were dancing with the characters, but they would sit and take a break, and enjoy a mickey bar or an itzakadoozle from the limitless ice cream supply. Then they would head back out to the dance floor!

It starts later, and there are fans, in a covered patio.

I went last year about sept 15th and have intentions this year of going about sept 1st.

There are fans, shade and it is in the evening. I wouldn't miss this one and I would much rather this, over a 2 PM walk outside in the MK!

thanks grace. I know i think my kids will really love the never ending cooler of ice cream bars
sweetdana that is true since it is later on in the day and i would think would beat standing out in the sun at 2 in the afternoon.
