Is Mickey Back???

I was wondering that as well, we are leaving soon and I plan on doing some snorkeling, I don't won't to go crazy looking if it's not there.

What was supposed to have happened to him? Are you referring to the one in the water? I believe it was there in January.

I was refering to a previous post where people said he was AWOL. Some people believed he was "lost" in the storms and others who spoke with lifeguards said he had been removed for repairs. I too will not be devistated if he isn't there I was just curious and hopeful.
Thanks,
Micky

I looked and looked for that hting this past Spetember, I never could find it! THat was tiresome too!

On the Jan. 22, 2005 Eastern, we were told that he was out for repairs. (After my DH and DS spent almost 40 minutes looking for him!)

Maybe someone who has been more recently can chime in.........

We were there in September...and he was there then...See the photo below...That's from our last trip (9/11/04)

As of March, nope, not there. And apparently, he isn't returning, at least not the original one. I ended up becoming pretty close with one of the crew members who said he was definitely gone and that story about being "out for repairs" was simply not true. They will make another one I am sure, but some day, I bet Mickey washes up on shore!

I didn't talk to anyone on board, but I SAW Mickey there in late October. The statue was damaged and the wheel was laying on the ground a little ways from the rest of the statue. I didn't take a camera out with me, so I don't have a picture - but I definitely saw it there then and that was after the hurricanes.

I guess I tend to believe the 'out for repairs' story just because there was a damaged statue there then that could have been pulled out and sent to be fixed.

Thanks KCarl...maybe they should enlarge the snorkeling area and someone might just "find" him huh?
I was looking forward to seeing him down there but oh well.... :confused3
