Is it possible to MGM in one day? Or do I give it more than that.
Also what about Ak?

I know that Epcot could use two days. If you did both parts.
If we only chose to do the first half, how much time will we need.

We are giving MK 2 1/2 days.

Gang , ME, DH ,DS 9,9,5 DD3 MIL, FIL, MOM and DAD (11/1-11/9)

Im trying to go over my plans and see if I did it right.
So if I need to change I can. :thumbsup2

Thank you!!!!!

The Unofficial Guide says you can do AK and MGM in one day no problem. Now, if you want to do EVERYTHING I don't think that's possible. We only went to MGM one day last trip and I really wanted to do the millionare game and didn't have time for it. Also the Back lot tours was closed so didn't get to do that. One thing you can do to ensure extra time is do counter service for meals instead of table service. I think that is the reason we didnt' have time to do everything we wanted is because we did table service for lunch.

I think both are doable in one day, But I feel you would miss much more of MGM then of AK.

MGM is doable in 1 day if you don't mind missing some things. There are a lot of shows in MGM and it will be hard to see them all since they all have schedules for instance the Lights motors action show is usually only on 3 times in 1 day making it difficult to see if your trying to catch another show or have reservations for eating at a restaurant. I planned 2 days for my trip. AK is definetely doable in 1 day with no problem if you'll be there from open to closeing.

If you hustle, you can probably do just about everything -- you just need to get a show schedule ahead of time since a good portion of the attractions are shows. It is also easier now that Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is closed. What we do is run to Tower & Aerosmith first thing, then try to catch the first Little Mermaid at 10:00 followed by the first Playhouse Disney (or vice versa), then just follow show schedules for LMA, B & the B, and Indiana while filling in Animation, Backlot, Narnia, Muppets, Playground and Star tours, Movie ride and Disney Story. I have never done Sounds Dangerous, but most seem to hate it. Top off with Fantasmic and try to catch the parade. You will probably miss a lot of the Streetmosphere, which is fun, on this plan and if they are still doing Jedi Training Academy, that is a lot of fun for young'uns over by Star Tours.

On the other hand, I think AK is going to get harder to do all in one day when Nemo opens because catching all 4 shows will be tough if you also take the train to Conservation Station (which many do not like, but my family loves it). Also, the hours are shorter so less time.

Our kids are a little older now (10 & 13), but since they've been 4 & 7 we always seem to split up 7 park days as:

MK - 2 days
Epcot - 2 days
AK - 1 1/2 days
MGM - 1 1/2 days

That allows us to see just about everything. I'll repeat what others have said, and reiterate that you really need to pick up the show schedules at both AK and MGM (all parks for that matter!) to try to plan your touring around the show times. At MGM you need to think about LMA, Indiana Jones, Beauty and the Beast, and Fantasmic. At AK you need to think about Lion King, Nemo, Flights of Wonder and Pocahontas (although Pocahontas is pretty lame, your 3 and 5yos might really enjoy it).

You might manage a successful strategy at AK where everyone sees Lion King, and then some of you (with the younger children) go to Pocahontas, while the rest of your party heads over to ride Dinosaur. Then everyone can meet up at the Dig Site, so there's still fun stuff to do, even if someone gets held up. This is usually possible for a few show times during the day, when Pocahontas is 40 minutes after Lion King. It means you have to have your plan in place, hustle out of Lion King, and get less than terrific seats for Pocahontas (the theatre is next door to Lion King), but we've done this successfully on 2 or 3 trips.

Although you'll move more slowly with a larger party, on the plus side you're visiting at a time of year when both the weather and the crowds should be great.

Have fun!

As some have said before. A lot fo MGM time is the shows , getting seating, waiting for them to start, ect. But for us MGM is easily done in a day !

AK is easy in a day. MGM is a challenge like others said because of the show times but if you plan ahead it can be done. We did all except Voyage of the Little Mermaid (DD6 scared of thunder and lightning and remembered it from first trip)and we had time to do it had we wanted to.

You have 2 choices. #1 Rush around in a frantic haze and miss things, but get mgm in 1 day as well as AK in 1 day. :confused3:furious:
#2 Take your time and enjoy the parks.:cool1::thumbsup2:goodvibes

My say would be for you to leave time to see all the other stuff and not rush from headline attraction to headline attraction. On my first trip to the world in may of 01, I was with my wife (1st timer), my mother(2nd trip) and my soon to be step dad(6th trip). I researched like a madman and on the 3rd day my step dad thanked me for showing him a bunch of stuff he had either hurried past or never noticed. We all went again the next year and this time all saw everything we wanted to.

So is it possible to do MGM or AK in 1 day each YES. But I wouldn't.

You can do each in 1 day but will miss something, but still feel that you have seen what you wanted.

Our plans this trip are:

AK 1/2 Day (Everest as many times as possible before lunch and go)
MK 2 1/2 (Includes MNSSHP)

Epcot/MGM 3 days 1/2 each doing morning at one afternoon at other and vice versa.

We do MGM in a day and feel relaxed doing it. We feel more rushed doing AK in a day, probably because it's more spread out.

I've spent more than one day in MGM, but it's totally possible to do it in one day. If I'm pressed for time, I just hit what I deem to be the "highlights"- TOT (more than once if possible :rotfl: ), RN'RC, Great Movie Ride, and Muppets. If I have a little extra time, I try to catch a show or two and watch Fantasmic if it's close to park closing. Same concept with AK. But you're wise to plan on more than one day for MK and Epcot. I like to spend a full day in World Showcase alone, and MK is just too much territory for one visit!

You may need some extra time... you are traveling with a pretty large group, and have a 3-year-old. We did Studios last year on an EMH day (open late). It was our first WDW trip. It was me, my mom, and my son who was 3 - almost 4 at the time. We were there from morning until closing of EMH and did nearly everything. We missed The Little Mermaid, ToT, and Star Tours, but we did everything else.

If you move fast, you may be able to do everything there in one day... sometimes it's just impossible to hit the timing of the shows right to be able to do them all.

You could use the touring plan from the Unofficial Guide (or touringplans.com) to (try to) get through MGM in one day. Also, since AK closes earlier than the other parks, you could do as much as possible at MGM one day, then the next day do AK, and then when AK closes, park hop over to MGM and do what you missed.

I have heard during the Star Wars weekend that its real tough. We are coming in June next year and are changing are schedule if this is the case. But we are coming on the 3rd week of June. Will it still be going on?

Mr. Mike

I think all the parks are doable in one day depending on what you want to see. However, it's easier to do with AK and Studios without missing tons of stuff than with Epcot or MK (if you try to squeeze those into one day, you'll have to think very carefully about what you're willing to miss - not too hard if you've been plenty of times, but diffucult for first timers).

Studios is my favorite park by far (I could spend weeks in there - I'd never get off ToT if I had the choice) and I can do it in one day by missing out on these attractions:

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground
Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage (both are primarily aimed at small children. Being 23 and not having children, I skip right past them)

Sounds Dangerous (just not interested)

The Magic of Disney Animation (used to be a favorite - not the same without the animators and the Robin Williams & Walter Cronkite video)

Other than those, I do every attraction in the park and have no problem doing it all in one day. I will say that if I want to be able to see Fantasmic! I stay in the park the whole day in order to do everything - no break to go back to the hotel. I usually go during the off season when Fantasmic! plays earlier in the evening, so if it'll be playing later in the night and you want to do everything, you may be able to get it done with a nap/swim break.
