Is May a good time to try FW?

I just got back from WDW and I'm starting to think about going back! I really like the idea of having my own car at Disney and also trying the whole camping thing. We have a pop-up camper, so what kind of site would I want at FW? Do they have sites with cable for pop-ups? I'm not sure my DH can handle a vacation without cable! Is May a good month for camping? Too hot? I love the Flower & Garden Festival, so I'm thinking I might want to go in the spring. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I assume that you do not have AC in your popup (or you would not be asking about the heat). May is a great month to be at Disney. The crowds are not too heavy, but the hours and activities are similar to peak times. May is my favorite time to be there, and we will be at FW in May next year.

Climate-wise, it is definitely hot and humid in May. I would compare it to the peak humidity and heat that we see in New England - which is nothing, compared with the peak in Florida, but still pretty darned hot for me. I would want AC, but if you are comfortable in your pop-up, without AC, in the worst part of the Summer in PA, then you will be fine at FW in May.

I do have A/C in my pop-up. Guess I should have mentioned that! I just haven't really put it to the test yet!! We have only taken the pop-up on one overnight trip so far and it wasn't hot. So, if I have A/C, I'll be OK? I love May in WDW, too. After flying down and back this week, I'm thinking driving down actually sounds less painful, even if it is a long trip!

Been there once or twice in May and June. Now I only go in December, unless told otherwise.

I thought May was a great time to be there, just get there early enough to avoid the crowds when school lets out (i.e. before Memorial Day). And hopefully you'll have a light love-bug season! They're going to install cable in the 1500/2000 partial loops, but I have no idea when they'll be done.

I think your big questions are: How important is it to you to be close to the Marina or the Meadows area, and do you want a sewer connection? We stayed in 2000 which isn't near anything but loved it, and most recently stayed in 200 which has a sewer service and is close to everything, and loved that too. Check out the FW map (it's in the FAQ), see what rates you can get, and happy planning! :goodvibes
