Last week I went for my 26 week prenatal appt. and my bp was up. Same thing happened with my son, only at 33 weeks then. I knew there was a good chance of it happening again because of history but also because I am carrying twins. Thankfully so far I'm just on bedrest. they monitored me in the hospital for 24 hours and so far its just elevated blood pressure, nothing else. At home I monitor it 2x a day and as long as I am laying down all is hunky dory. No meds needed as of yet, just laying down.

My question is I have a pregnancy massage scheduled for next sunday and I'm wondering if it will be okay to go to. I will be laying down for it, they do it on my side with a bunch of pillows for support. It sounds like such heaven and I would love to go, but don't know if massage is okay with elevated bp. Again, so far my bp as not been elevated while I'm laying down, which I would be for the massage, but still. I know I should ask my dr. and I will when I see him next friday, just curious if anyone here has a take on it?

TIA!

If it is specifically a pregnancy massage, you should be OK. But of course the correct person to ask is your doctor.
