Is Magnavox still a good reliable brand?

No other store is going to let you bring the TV back. You have to deal with the manufacturer. At least with Costco you aren't having to spend money to fix it.
The Costco warranty is only two years (you can purchase more). The odds of the TV failing in that time is slim. Not a huge selling point IMO.

They used to be pretty good, They were rebranded Panasonic as I recall.
Also Phillips for a while as well.

Now they are made by Funai I guess.

Funai makes Philips, Magnavox, Emerson Radio, and Sanyo so personally Id avoid them, but for a 32 radio id probably be less concerned than something that is a few hundred. Id also read through the one star reviews.

We had a lot of Magnavox products when I was growing up because my dad worked for Philips Medical Systems and Philips Electronics owned Magnavox. But they got rid of their Electronics divisions years ago so no idea what they are like these days. I still had a Philips-Magnavox CD player up until fairly recently that my parents bought in the mid 90's.

I thought the OP was asking about TV's not clock/radios. You can search around online and see which companies are still in business and which ones sold off their brand name for someone else to manufacture. For portable electronics costing less then $50, I doubt the name brand makes much difference.

Wow. I was shocked to see that Magnavox still makes TVs and, apparently sells them.

For $32, and it's what I want, I'd buy it. If it lasts a year, I got my money's worth.
That's the thing. I want something that's going to last. I'm not expecting it to last 20-30 years. That just not realistic anymore. 😕 But 5-10 years would be nice. I hate replacing electronics because there's no place around here to recycle them. I won't throw them in the trash and I'm running out of space to store semi-functioning boomboxes.

I already did that.

Here's a couple others I was looking at, but I didn't recognize the brand names.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B625NK5...4N9GWA226V&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_ys_dp_it&th=1

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088BBSMT...d=34K4N9GWA226V&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_ys_dp_it

Technically my budget is higher than these prices. I was thinking around $60, but I could as high as $75 if it will last closer to 10 years.

I'm looking for....
CD player
Portable so I can carry it from room to room
Aux jack for my phone
A cord to plug it in
Bonus points if it's NOT boring black. 😅

Can’t go wrong with Sony electronics.

At this point it's just a brand name with no real relation to this history of the brand. The brand is still owned by Philips but has been licensed to different companies in different markets.

Magnavox
Once a U.S. TV market leader, the Philips-owned Magnavox brand is now licensed by Funai Electric. The Japanese manufacturer also controls the U.S. licenses for the Emerson, Philips (see below), and Sanyo brand names. As a historical footnote, Funai was the last remaining company to make VCRs; it stopped producing them in 2016.

I certainly wouldn't get anything today with the Magnavox name unless it was really cheap.

We replaced an Onkyo mulit disk CD player recently that played our christmas disks. They do not make many anymore

Yeah - probable easier to find a DVD player (or Blu-ray) to play CDs - multi disc is probable harder unless its like the 25 disc unit

Now that CDs are coming back (similar to vinyl) that might change
