Is Magical Express still in existence?

If you stay at a Disney Resort, is Magical Express still provided as transportation from MCO to the Disney Resorts?

The two paid services provide the same experience as ME did. In fact, Mears Connect leaves from the same place as the old "free" service did. So if you don't mind the cost, you can have a similar experience as in the past. Well, except the videos! But I can't say I miss those LOL

it's not technically the "same" experience, as there is no Disney theming or Disney-produced video on the buses, unless your Mears driver wants to show a Disney movie. Otherwise it is exactly the same (especially on Mears, since they were the company that ran DME)

And you have to pick up your own bags before boarding if you check anything, right? The paid providers aren’t doing any baggage handling.

Correct. But DME stopped luggage pickup before Covid so that I think is long gone…. unless someone would decide to start up another service which I doubt.

I personally loved it and would actually be happy to pay extra. But I suspect it was a huge hassle for Disney and would be for anyone else offering anything equivalent to it.

And I agree with you, Debbie. Luggage transfer is something I'd be willing to pay for.

Baggage handling was done by a different company (Bags inc) that went out of business during covid, they still handled luggage prior to the closure.

as noted, there has not been any luggage transfer service since the Covid closure. Disney probably won't contract with one again, but some enterprising person could possibly start up an independent luggage transfer service if no one has already.
