I have heard so many mixed reviews about magic kingdom that i don't know what to do go or not go???? I heard the lines are always too longs, you don't get too see half the stuff if you go for just one day. then on the other hand i hear you need to at least experience it. Also is fantasy land part of magic kingdom and is it the same ticket to get into each or do you need seperate tickets? thanks for your help :)

That is some crazy talk! Who would go to Disneyworld without going to the Magic Kingdom? With a decent plan, you shouldn't experience what you posted.

And yes, Fantasyland is in the MK and is just a section of the park. No separate ticket.

Magic Kingdom IMO is a 'must do'... It IS Disney.

Fantasyland is park of the Magic Kingdom, one ticket is all you need for that

Yes, lines can get long, learn about fastpass and use it. Check out some of the touring sites and see how they suggest you tour etc etc..

I cant imagine going to WDW and NOT going to MK..

To me, it isn't a trip to WDW if we don't go to the Magic Kingdom at least once! And yes, FantasyLand is part of MK, same ticket, no separate entry needed.

Welcome to the DIS! :welcome:

MK is the must-do place in Disney World. If that doesn't satisfy you, nothing there will.

Recommend you get a guide book like Unofficial Guide to answer your basic questions, then return here with further questions.

Magic Kingdom is absolutely worth going to. Fantasyland is just a small part of Magic Kingdom and requires no additional ticket. Lines can be long, but with a good plan, you can keep your waiting to a minimum. When are you thinking of going? Time of year can also affect crowds.

Magic Kingdom is our favorite park. I think you would miss out if you didn't go.

Oh yea :welcome: to the DISboards... There is literally an overwhelming amount of info here. Dont let the frustrate you. It is a great resource.

MK is very much worth going to! I've seen a few rides with long lines, but there are plenty with shorter lines. And you can use fast pass for most of the long ones. And, the atmosphere there is just different than in the other parks and worth experiencing.

Fantasyland is part of MK and does not require another ticket, but it is currently under construction and only part is open (I think). More should be open in December though, and I think the rest opens next year.

Hi
Yes!! The MK is Disney!!! If you're worried about lines, make sure you get fastpasses. You're going to have so much fun!!

It is my absolute favorite place in the world. It IS Walt Disney World.

Can lines get long? Yes. But you don't have to wait in them if you do your homework. A good strategy goes a long way...I never wait longer than 15 minutes for attractions, even at peak times (like summer).

Except for the permanently-closed Snow White, all original major FL attractions are open.

Absolutely! It's the jewel in the crown of the resort!

The reason there are lines is because everybody wants to go there, because it's awesome. And yes, there's so much going on that you could spend several days and not see *everything.* But that's a good thing! It means you won't get bored, and it means you'll want to go back.

I don't wait in any line longer than twenty minutes. If the line is long and there's no FASTPASS available, I go, do something else, and come back later. I also don't race around trying to cram in so many activities I don't enjoy any of them. You can absolutely take it at whatever pace makes you happy.

If I knew that I only had one day to visit Disney again :confused3 I would have to visit Magic Kingdom....it is where that magic is at!

I saw someone comment in a previous post "if you want rides go to Universal." The reason I posted this comment is because Disney, especially the Magic Kingdom, is about so much more than rides and lines. The Magic of Disney truly begins in the Magic Kingdom. There is so much to see and do in that one place that never involves a line nor is the enjoyment determined by the number of people there. If you are new to Disney or a true believer in the magic and joy Disney has to offer, definitely go to the Magic Kingdom. Take your time and walk around and experience all there is to do there. With or without children, it is truly a magical place.

OP, if your question is honest and you are not just some brand new poster trying to stir up an onilne argument, then I apologize. But really, what kind of response do you expect posting a question like that on a internet posting board full of WDW fanatics. I mean sure, you'll find your share of folks here who favor the Magic Kingdom the least out of the 4 Disney parks, but I don't think you'd be able to find a single person on this board that would tell you that going to the Magic Kingdom was a waste of your time.

Are the lines long? They can be if you don't plan ahead and don't use fast-passes. I always say with complete honesty that I don't wait in Disney lines longer than 20 minutes, ever.

Do you sometimes spend a whole day there and not get to see everything? Again, this is a good possibility, especially in high seasons when the parks are full. However, have you EVER gone to a theme park for one day and seen everything there? I haven't. I mean, have you ever been to Cedar Point? I once spent 4+ hours in line there for ONE RIDE! And it was terrible. Anyone who goes to a park thinking they'll get everything done in one day is fooling themselves. I usually schedule at least 2 days in the Magic Kingdom during a WDW trip, and I am not someone who cares if I miss a ride or two.

Do you need to experience it? As what, a part of a Disney vacation? Yes, I would say a trip to the Magic Kingdom is an integral part of any WDW vacation. As part of a trip to Florida in general, but not specifically WDW? Maybe, that depends on your family's preferences. As part of living life and experiencing fun things in general? I'd say yes, a lot of others would say no.

Basically, OP, if you're seriously planning a trip to WDW and you're asking yourself whether you want to visit the Magic Kingdom, I'd have to ask you, "Why visit WDW at all?"

thank you all for your adivce and help. We will definetly be experiencing it this time around. we are going march 3-16. any day is like the other i'm guessing. how do you get the fast pass and what is the extra cost for that? also can you leave and come back?

Absolutely worth it, it is the park where we spend most of our time on our WDW vacations! Arriving for rope drop, a good touring plan, and smart use of fastpass can help you avoid the long lines and see a lot of the attractions in the park if you only have one day to spend there.

ok and which package would you recommend at the botique for my 7 year old diva. I have a dress i will bring for her myself so i don't need that one lol
