Is Lucky worth a special trip to AK?

My dh2b has never been to AK but I'm pregnant and can not ride most of the rides. So, we were going to skip it this time and catch it next time. Then, I heard that Lucky the Dinosaur is only going to be there for a limited time only and would like to see him.

Is he worth making the special trip there? What does he do? Has anyone seen him?

Hi Iluvpiglet,

We were there over the weekend and we found Lucky to be completely miss-able! Maybe others will disagree but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Seeing Crush at the Living Seas at Epcot was much more entertaining and fun!

I could have sworn we saw him a few years ago- kind of an animatronic triceratops(?) If you had young kids I would say go because they get so excited to see a "real" dinosaur. But just adults- don't bother nothing great.
Now all this might be my memories of the one at IOA so maybe I am useless-but I do remember the name lucky.

I can't imagaine skipping AK. It is my second favorite park and I would never miss it. I have heard friends say that they thought Lucky was nothing to get excited about. AK does not have many rides that you cannot ride being pregnant, at least I can't think of many. I would think you could ride Kilamajaro Safari- there were several pregnant women on it the last time I rode it, it's is basically just a bumpy jeep ride through a wildreness, Kahli river rapids is pretty tame, you just get wet, It's a bug's life is a 3-D movie, the animals are the real attraction. The only rides I can think of you couldn't ride would be dinasour and triceratops spin.
Like I said I can't imagine skipping AK BUT- I hate Epcot -world showcase yawn yawn. The only thing that got me through it last time was that each country sold booze.

I'm confused-he was already gone when we were there in August. Did he come back? I'm thinking he's not worth the trip for sure since I don't think he's there. He went back to DL.

Lucky is not there anymore. He left back over the summer I'm afraid. And I don't think that he'll be back for awhile as he's going on a tour of all the other Disney theme parks around the world. In fact, if I am correct, I think he is in HK DL right now for the opening.

I wouldn't want to go on the safari ride if I was pregnant. The last time we rode it we had an awfully rough ride. We laughed because none of our still pictures turned out due to the fact we were being thrown around inside the jeep and couldn't hold the camera still long enough to get a picture! I would hate to see someone who was pregnant being bounced around like that. I wouldn't make a special trip to AK just to see Lucky. I'd suggest going only if you want to walk the trails and see the animals or to watch the shows and parade! Congratulations on your little one!
