My son wants to take his longboard to the World. We will be at OKW and the Boardwalk area. Is this frowned upon? Thanks!

That's like a skateboard? Pretty sure that's gonna be a no. Where does he wish to use it?

Bikes, roller skates/blades, skateboards, etc., are NOT allowed at the normal Disney resort. The sidewalks are for families/pedestrians and anyone using wheels will be stopped. There are areas at Ft. Wilderness and maybe some of the larger DVC properties. But then he will be in the roadways. Are you comfortable with that?

Direct from Disney:

The following are not allowed to be brought into the Disney Theme Parks:

Items with wheels, such as wagons, skateboards, scooters, inline skates, shoes with built-in wheels, two-wheeled or three-wheeled conveyances, strollers larger than 36" x 52", suitcases, coolers, or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations), and any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV wheelchair or stroller
Alcoholic beverages
Weapons of any kind
Folding chairs
Glass containers (excluding baby food jars and perfume bottles)
Pets (unless they are service animals)
In Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park (for the safety of the wildlife), balloons, straws and drink lids are not permitted. Note: they now have biodegradable paper straws

Sorry, he's not going to be able to use it in or out of the parks. As the PP said, they're not permitted to be brought into any theme park, and skateboarding isn't allowed on the resort sidewalks or in the parking lots. The areas around the resorts are just too crowded with pedestrians. I can't recommend roads, either. It's absolutely not safe, not with buses whizzing along at highway speeds, and WDW security has been known to pick up pedestrians on the roadways, I'm sure they'd be all over a skateboarder faster than quick.

I understand that there's at least one skateboard park in the Orlando area, so if you'll have a car and are willing to go off property, that might be an option. Otherwise, it's not worth even bringing it.

:rotfl: my youngest daughter, at the time in her teens wanted to bring her skate board too! Kids :roll eyes:

He'd really enjoy the Ft Wilderness segway tour, they go off roading, and it's so much fun! My older daughter & I did it last january, and loved it.

yes, you don't need to worry about that. Longboarding is allowed. Yes, in some places it's not but you will be notified by society.
