Is Lightning McQueen and Mater at DisneyWorld?

My son is obsessed with Lightning McQueen and Mater from the Cars movie. Are these characters at the Florida park or only at the park in California? My sister just got back from there a couple of weeks ago and was able to take pictures besides them and I was hoping they had this available at the World too.

Does anyone know how these times work? Obviously, they are scheduled to make an appearance starting at 9:30 on Monday, and again at 10:35 and 11:35 ... but how long do they stay? At what point between 10:35 and 11:35 will they NOT be there? Perhaps more importantly (since you can always stop back later if you miss them in the morning), at what point after 4:25 will they not be there?

We saw them at MGM near the Sounds Dangerous attraction I believe. We just got there a little early and waited for the cars to come out. Problem is, there were no lines nor was there any order. The kids just all crowded the cars and we couldn't get a picture without at least 5 other kids in the picture too. I would recommend catching them when it's slow so hopefully you get a good picture. Good Luck!

Isn't it the best to see a kid's face when they see their favorite character for the 1st time?!

Now when we were there (end of Sept) there was a line and as we got in line a CM told us "no strollers" so I went to park the stroller where she told me I could, thank goodness DH stayed in line with our daughter, because suddenly they cut off the line and they were the last ones allowed to get up close to Lightning and Mater.

So I suggest you get there a little early and keep your eyes open as to whats going on (line, no line, etc.) My daughter would have been devastated if she had saw "McQueen" and not been allowed to get up close to him.

Those were some of my favorite photos from that trip. She was in complete awe of meeting the "real" Lightning McQueen. She just stared at him with a big goofy smile on her face. I think she's in love.

we just got back 11/4-11/9
My son is also a Cars nut.
We had to wait in a line, and park our stroller acorss the street.
The CM's put up cones in the street, had everyone line up along the curb,and even took pix for people, and tried there best to keep the line moving. Get there early, because i do not know how long Lightning stays out, we were about the 5th family in line. Never saw Mater though

They have not been in the parade for awhile. They have been replaced by the Ratatouille unit.

They are out no longer then 30 minutes. And also be warned, the line is not open the entire time. After a bit, the line will be closed (and no one else can get in line). To make sure you see them, I would arrive about 10 minutes before they are due out.

Not anymore. They now meet in front of the San Francisco backdrop on Street of America, and they have a queue line. The line forms against the left sidewalk (facing the backdrop) and you see Lightning first and then end with Mater.
