Is Legoland worth a spot in our itinerary?

We're heading to CA for the first time this April. Subtracting one day for travel we'll have 6 full days to explore. We plan on spending 2.5 days at DL and 3.5 days in SD. The only must do we've got planned in SD is to go to the zoo and then figured we'd spend time exploring the city. I hadn't really thought too much about going to Legoland - figured we'd be theme parked out - but with our 2yo I'm thinking it might be worth a trip. Any thoughts?

We just have one son who will be 2.5 when we go and he absolutely loves legos.

Yes definitely go then. We just went there last week and loved it. It is a wonderful park beautifully landscaped with lots of shade. Expensive to get in but once inside the food and souveniers are very reasonable priced. Go to the webite to see which rides he can go on based on height and plan your day accordingly. You won't regret going . Our kids are 4, 11 and 13 and even the oldest two thought it was a great park!
PS. Bring water shoes and swimwear and a change of clothes. The Pirates area is loads of fun!

2.5 is a lil young.
First trip we took our boys when they (twins)were 5 they loved it, 2nd trip when they were 10 they loved it. this year they were 12 and they hated it..

our youngest was 2 on our 2nd trip he didn't get to do much. Nor does he remember anything. Spent much of his time in the stroller. He did enjoy the play areas but nap times etc made it difficult for us to really get him into legoland. Either or i love legoland. it has shorter lines not as crowded the times we have gone( off season). and were able to explore the whole park.

We took our DD a couple of months before she turned 3 and she loved Legoland! We are big Lego fans and my daughter absolutely loved it! It is geared towards younger children and they can ride many of the rides. I think she could have stayed there our entire trip and been happy. She rode a couple of rides over and over (especially the little train!) It is really worth a trip for a Lego lover. We plan on going back on our next trip to DL next year!

HI!! I have an annual pass for Legoland and my son is only 15 months old. We've had it since he was 13 months old. There are only three rides he can go one because of height restrictions. So make sure it's worth it for you in that sense. We go every Thursday simply for the play areas and the bins upon bins of giant legos they have to play with. In the summer the pirate water park is fun, but too cold now IMO.

MOST of the areas are for 4-8 year olds, but like I said, we take our 15 month old son and he loves it. I only paid $57 for a pass that included parking, so I personally wouldn't buy a one-day ticket. Too expensive. But if it's your only visit then just do it. And the park hours are usually 10am-5pm, so you can have a sleep-in morning and an early night in. Have fun!!

The Op is going in April so hopefully it should not be too cold. We went last week when it was 80f and the kids had a blast in the water area.

You will love Legoland. It's a different experience from Disney. Wonderful for anyone who really loves Legos! Charming and very pleasant park.

Lauri, I know you were asking about LegoLand, but with this being your first trip to SoCal / DLR, I think you should think strongly about 3.5 days (or at least 3 FULL days) at DLR. (note - the price difference as you add days to the park hoppers are small.)

& TO ALL......given her itinerary does that SoCal pass make sense??

Pumpkin made a good point about LL opening at 10am. I'm thinking that LL is only about 60-90 minutes (straight shot down I 5) from DLR... fwiw.

Have you been to WDW?

What nights are you planning on staying at DLR & what hotel are you considering?

April will most likely be too cold for getting wet. Our Spring is much colder than our Fall.

When you say, "explore the city," what do you mean? There is not much for a 2 year old to do in the city. I would plan on having something to do everyday (theme park, beach, whatever).

Sea World is really fun and so is the Zoo. I would personally pass on the Wild Animal Park. Legoland is nice because it's right off the 5 freeway. Will you be staying in Orange County the entire 6 days?
