Is Le Cellier Worth It

It's been several years since I've eaten at Le Cellier, and it was wonderful. I'm just wondering is it as good as it used to be.

To be frank I still enjoy Le Cellier. Soup and pretzel rolls are faves. It has however went downhill a bit in the last 5 years or so. there have been it seems it seems a couple of makeovers to the menu. I would chalk this up to new chefs. In fact I did ask after they started serving the poutine and that was confirmed. Wife still loves the filet for me soup and usually one of the poutines and dessert and we are good to go. Still good but sure it is quite the same as 5 or so years ago.

Is it as good as it used to be? Yes.

Is it worth two DDP credits? No.

LC was one of our favorite restaurants until it went to two credits. While the steak is excellent, we've gotten great steaks elsewhere (Shutters at CBR, Sci-Fi, Coral Reef) for only one credit. Personally, if we're going to hit a signature place, it's not going to be LC.

As far as the food goes yes its more than worth it.
It was probably the best meal I've ever eaten on property.
However I'm unsure if I could stomach the atmosphere again.
It was so dark, so loud, and I could have literally touched guest's food sitting at other tables around me.

We haven't eaten at Le Cellier in a few years but have had several great experiences there. We plan on going there next summer. I take the more negative reviews on here with a grain of salt. We also don't do the DDP, so I don't get all worked up about it being 2 credits.

Le Cellier is nice, but IMHO Yachtsmans Steakhouse is better. And right next door.

Most here will tell you (and I would agree) that while the food here generally ranges from good to excellent, value-wise it isn't worth it because the place charges top price if you pay out of pocket, or takes 2 standard dinner credits like a signature restaurant, but yet the place simply is NOT good or fancy enough to truly be a signature restaurant. If you are going to pay signature restaurant level money or dining plan credits, and desire steak, go to the Yachtsman or Narcooses, both of which are superior.

Like I said before, it IS a good meal, and its located in Epcot, which makes it convenient, but there are better steaks out there (and nicer restaurants) for what you will pay here.

I have eaten at Narccoossee - and prefer LC, even at 2 credits. I probably don't have fancy tastebuds though. The steak at Narccoossee was probably better quality, but we are obsessed with LC's truffle sauce. We just splurged on LC in March and it was as good as we remembered (back when it was 1 credit). We've eaten at some fancy steakhouses, but LC is still my DH's favourite anywhere. I think its a combo of the amazing sauce and the sprinkling of some pixie dust!

Food and service are good imo. Most people feel its not worth the price though.

Great thread. I'm debating on Le Cellier vs Yachtsman. I have an ADR for LC. Sounds like it's almost unanimous that YC has a better steak, but I have 4 kids, 2 under the age of 6, so atmosphere plays a big part in it. I do wish LC still had their ribeye though.

I was at Le Cellier last year and thought it was a very good meal. I don't use the DDP so I am not worried about it being 2 credits. I did think that Yachtsman had the better steak when we did both on a 10 day trip years ago. I don't think you can go wrong with either one of these. My biggest problem was that we had reservations and we did not get seated till about 45 mins after the time.
