Debating trying to get an ADR at Downtown Disney Instead so that we can also visit Disney Quest. I will have an almost 5 year old and an almost 1 year old.

I have never eaten there and have always wanted to try it. Is it a must?

I loved the steak at Le Cellier, but I wasn't a fan of their specialty fries. I also heard Yachtsman Steakhouse is great, which we'll be trying during this next visit.

Before LC became a signature place (2 credits on the DDP), I would have said "definitely worth it".
However, now I would spend the $$ or the credits at a signature that it not inside a theme park as you get a better overall experience for the money.

Even debating just grabbing a counter service meal since we really want to speak some time at Downtown Disney/Disney Quest and this might be the best day to do it. Just trying to see if I am missing out by cancelling Le Cellier.

Like every other restaurant (not just at Disney) it can have good days and bad days. Had you asked us this time last year we would have said absolutely 100% having had 5 wonderful meals there. Went last August though and had a rubbish meal, wasn't worth counter service price. worst steak of our 14 night stay. Now at DTD we had a beautiful meal (two of us had steaks) at House of Blues - I would return there in a shot.

If you have always wanted to try something, then I think life is too short not to try it. Especially if you have the funds (Le Cellier is very very pricey, go google the menu!) It's not very elaborately themed, so it may not hold the attention of a 1yr old and a 5yr old...in the way that most nice steakhouses may not hold their attention. Order them the kids chocolate mouse dessert if they still have it...it's very cute.
But again...if you would kick yourself for not trying it...then go try it!

I didn't make an ADR for San Angel for the last 10+ years even though I've always wanted to dine above the boat ride. Because of reviews I read, or not wanting to worry picky eaters, or it not fitting in our plans etc. Finally this year I just decided even though I'll have a toddler with me, we are going there for a dinner this next trip!

Le Cellier was our big signature meal last March, and it was fantastic. I could not have been more happy. Heading to Yachtsman this September for the first time, but Le Cellier set the bar high for us.

We love the food at Le Cellier, but the space is very small and not really geared towards kids.

Thanks everyone! I have tried to rearrange our ADRs but as everyone know they are hard to get so it's Friday night or nothing at all! My kids are pretty used to dining out so I think I will stick with this ressie. :)

"Worth" is a term of value. And that's all in your own perspective.

Worth two credits on the dining plan? No.
Worth the price for the food you want to eat? Absolutely.

Not a big fan of LC, though my wife & DD like it a lot. If you must be in Epcot, and you must have beef, it will be fine. I'd sooner eat elsewhere in Epcot, or leave for Yachtsman or Shula's for beef. :earsboy:

I'm one of the biggest fans of LC. Yet, since you have a 5 and 1 year old, your choice for eating may be better elsewhere.

Not when you can have the ultimate in deliciousness of Narcoosees for the same amount of credits.

Well,my food was not as good at Outback Steakhouse so no it's not worth it...

But don't worry about the kids. If you get my waiter you will be out of there so fast they won't get bored. He delivers appetizers and entrees on his only visit and then disappears until he shows up with the check and says "you don't want desert do you" The only thing missing to move this along faster was a cattle prod :)

MY biggest issue with it centers on the ding plan. They doubled the cost by sending it to 2 credit land with only minor menu changes. So, like supersnoop says, not worth 2 dining credits, but worth an out of pocket IMO.

It's a great restaurant. We had the bone-in and filet. Our server was attentive and kept my glass filled. The smallness is part of the charm. The coziness is too. The pretzel bread and poutine are the best.

Not just the deliciousness! The space!!!! Oh my crowded! WE booked Le Cellier for my DGD 6th birthday. Now I am not saying she deserved a thing, we were perfectly capable of making her day special, and we did, but my goodness! THis place wa so cramped and busy that the server did not find the time to even acknowledge her, yet at checkin we were asked about special celebations.

Okay, so no "Happy Birthday Princess". But the general overall service was pretty rushed and haphazard. the food was delivered in a timely manner, fast! Every course, one after the other, rapid fire! get in get out!

Never again, and I sure would not bring little ones in because this is a crowded restaurant. I agree that YSH, Narcoosses are better choices. The servers are not so pressured to push you out, andyour family has more room.
