Is July really that bad??!!

If the heat bothers you, yes it's miserable. Some people like "hot" - some can't function in it...just depends on what you are like.

And, I would add, it depends on what you want to do on your vacation. If you want to go commando-style through the parks, and hit everything, then I would imagine that a cooler, less-crowded time of the year is the best time to go. Me, I'm a summer person. I have been cold in Florida -- March 2001 -- and I was miserable. I am looking forward to the July schedule. Mornings and evenings in the parks will be plenty for us. We're staying at WL and I know that coming back mid-day and hitting the pool and enjoying the lake and grounds will be a highlight for us, as much as the parks. I've been reading posts where many of you swim when the temp is 70... that just isn't me. I like my swimming temps. to be high 80s and above. It doesn't feel like Florida to me if I cannot enjoy summer activities. Plus, I LOVE the warm evenings. LOVE them.

We have extremely high temps and humidity here in Tennessee, but we can go weeks in the summer without rain. I keep reading that it rains every day in the summer in wdw, how late in the evening does it rain? We are planning to go back to the hotel during lunch to swim, and would love to be able to plan to hit the parks again after the rain.

The last time we were there in June it rained all 7 afternoons between 2 and 5 for 20 to 30 minutes, although one day it rained for a couple of hours. The good news is we had Future World mostly to ourselves, which was cool enough to make me do the banana dance.

We have twice in July and will be returning this July for our third trip. We love it. There are some lines, but there is so much to do! You will have fun

This will be the 3rd time we have gone in July. Sure it gets hot but we head back to the pool for a swim or have a nice lunch at a resort. Last summer it rained once I think.

Reasons to go in July--
Everything is open later!
If it does rain all of the "lightweights" run for cover while the rest of us have fun!

We do a lot at night. After the parade is over in the MK everyone leaves. It's like a mass exodus. Many times we have found that you can just walk on the more popular rides. Then we hang around for Wishes and later the Kiss Goodnight.

I LOVE the summer months, and the crowds add to te atmosphere I find. Better in July than not going at all!!

AMEN!!! :cool1:

I don't know what the big deal is about July and/or August. So many people avoid it like the plague and in some ways overreact about it. I don't find the FL heat to be too much worse than the typical summer heat we experience in the midwest. I understand that several people on here "prefer" times such as October or March, because I have been then also and it is a nice time of year. But to say it's terrible, don't go....not true. I agree with the OP...atmosphere is better AND park hours and events rock. I'd like to get what I paid for!

And may they continue to do so. ;) More parades, long long hours, fireworks, and warm magical evenings for those of us who can -- ahem -- take the heat. :flower:

I have been In July 4 times and each time was set up so i could be there on the fourth because i love the fireworks, and just by doing my research each year from sites like this, i have had no problems. Yes it is hot and humid but knowing that, go prepared

We love WDW in July. Yes it's hot and humid, but if you go to the parks early, take a break to swim/nap in the afternoons and go back at night you'll be fine. Everythings open late, sometimes there are even two showings of SPectromagic. What I would hate is going at a time of the year where MK shuts down at 6 and you only get one chance to see the parade. Just take your water/spray/fan bottle, drinks lots of water, makes PSs and GOOOOO!
