Is Jiko worth it?

The future hubby and I would like to try this on our upcoming september trip, but were wondering if anyone had any recent reviews?

This is one of the few Disney TS restaurants that consistently provides quality service and food. I would just recommend checking their menu to ensure their food offerings sound appealing to you and your group.

i always wanted to eat at jiko and finally got the chance this past april. i wasn't that impressed. i got the short ribs which were good but i was tired of them after awhile and didn't like the side dish. my mom got the filet mignon and it was excellent. so for me, the food was okay but i didn't like the atmosphere. it was desserted when we were there and very dark and i just imagined it to be a different type of restaurant and i felt like i was at a chain steak house.

I have heard that the appetizers here are much more often enjoyed than the main courses. However, I have not been, so cannot offer my opinion on the matter. I am interested to see how others' experiences have been here, though (We will be going here on our upcoming trip!)

We ate there last fall. It was the worst meal we had in 8 days.

I haven't tried Jiko yet but will do so on my trip in august ...but still felt compel to post this. While it's good to get others' opinions ...I strongly suggest you look at the menu offerings and decide for yourself. While a couple of people posted here that they didn't like Jiko - there are other threads on this forum (including on the same date you posted) showing otehrs loved Jiko.

I have to say that we love this place. But as the PP said, you chould really decide for yourself. People have such very different opinions on food, and you will generally get mixed reviews on almost any restaurant. If your fiance wants to try it, then give it a chance.

If you have never been there, try it out and decide for yourself! I have been there many times over the last several years and it is my favorite place at WDW, but only you can decide whether you like it.

I was ther twice in March, once in April, and once last month. And I get something different each time.

(And the Braised Short Rib seems to be from a dinosaur, it is so large.)

We ate there last fall. It was the worst meal we had in 8 days.

I've eaten there 3 times. One of the best meals on Disney Property. The appetizers, Main Course, Desserts, Wines and servers are top notch.

This was my favorite meal last trip ... cannot wait to go back this year! Absolutely loved both the short ribs (at the time, Kona coffee braised) and the filet. The flatbread was the best I had ever had (it was a BLT flatbread with Tillamonk cheddar cheese). Unfortunately DS wasn't feeling well and could not truly enjoy the meal last year. It is #1 on this must dos for our upcoming trip!

Omigoodness yes! DH and I ate there for my B-day last Oct, it was the best meal from 10 days worth of eating, the food was fantastic! Tons of pics and full review in my Oct link
