Is Jiko still as good?

Hello all. I saw that the chef at Jiko has changed recently and was wondering if anybody had eaten there lately and what their experiences were. My husband and I are to go next month for his birthday dinner, and while I am super excited, I am a little nervous it might not be all I have dreamed of. Any input would be appreciated, as I have never eaten there.

I am also curious!! We are planning on JIKO for one of our "nice" meals on our honeymoon, so I hope it is as good as last year! Does anyone know if the new chef has added anything or taken anything off the menu?

I don't know when the most recent change in Chef's occured but I remember when Jiko last got a new Chef. I was worried that it wouldn't be as good but I was so wrong to worry. The Chef changed a few things but the overall quality and experience were still awesome. They changed the short ribs a little and that is my favorite dish. I actually thought the changes made them better.

We did not think it was quite as good as previous visits (we were there about 6 weeks ago) but we have eaten here many times and perhaps our expectations are warped. It's still one of the better meals at WDW but for us, Flying Fish has now taken the top spot away from Jiko.

It was my wife's favorite. Then we went in January. It's not her favorite any longer. The food was a bit sub-par, especially for the money, and the service (all around, not just our waiter) went from five-star to "how much do we take off the server's tip and should we say something to the manager about the attitudes" . . . this coming from a guy who tips over 20% even if the service isn't that great.
