I was looking at the Disney Dining Pics and the filet over mac and cheese looks heavenly, just wondered what everyone thought of it, any reviews/advice would be great, thank you:thumbsup2

Jiko is our favorite restaurant at Disney. We do like the filet and also adore the short ribs and the pork tenderloin. Jiko has a great South African wine list as well. I don't think you would be disappointed if you went to Jiko.

The filet is excellent.. The flatbread appetizers are great..The lamb was also great. You really can't go wrong with Jiko.

Jiko is our favorite restaurant at WDW--great food and great service. I've had several entrees there, but my favorite is the filet with mac and cheese. The pistachio creme brulee is to die for.

That is our favorite restaurant and our favorite meal, anywhere in WDW.

My DH always gets a South African wine to go with it- DeTourin V I think it is called although I may have it spelled wrong.

Tell us more about the wine, please.
Red? White? Dry, Off-Dry, Sweet?
We'll be doing the Cooking Place on Mother's Day & I'd love a nice bottle of wine with our adventure. I love recommendations.

Great thread! We were thinking about Jiko...now it's a definite! My daughter loves trying creme brulee whereever she goes!

Jiko is incredible. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing fine dining experience.

My husband and I had a great dinner there. I would highly recommend it.

I loved Jiko in April and will be taking my DH and DS for the first time in October. I had the filet and it was excellant.
Enjoy

We must be in the minority, but we weren't overly impressed w/it. I did have the filet which the waiter practically insisted I order. I ordered it because that's what I was in the mood for and it was good, but you have to work really hard to screw up a good piece of filet which is why I think they push it there. DH had some spicy scallop dish (can't remember exactly what it was) and it was just okay at best. We live in Maine so it's hard to beat the seafood here, but the flavors of his dish just weren't all that. We had some of the flatbread for apps and thought they were interesting but not to die for like some people on the boards seem to suggest. Wasn't overly impressed w/the dessert either-can't really remember what it was actually and I'm a dessert person. I was impressed w/the child's meals that my kids ate-very nicely done and appropriate portions. And the wine we ordered was quite good too. We are both ex-chef's so we expect A LOT from a place like this. Went in there w/very high expectations and I guess were kind of disappointed.

Jiko along with California Grill are out two favorite places to dine at WDW. On our last visit in Dec. 2006 I had the Lamb Shank and it was fantastic. My favorite meal of the trip. We always start with one of there great flatbreads. They also have a great wine list to choose from. While there explore the AKL, it is a beautiful resort to explore.

We went to California Grill for Christmas a few years ago and really enjoyed that. I am anxious to try Jiko. JML Brats: I can understand...sometimes when you go somewhere with high expectations it is disappointing and it could have been an "off night"....which can happen anywhere. We went to the Atlantis a few weeks ago and went to this "excellent" restaurant....and very expensive...no big deal in our opinion! We just remember...it's not our first dinner and it won't be our last!
Thanks for everyone's opinion!
