Is Jambo House at AKL automatically club level?

We booked a stay at AKL Club Level for November, we haven't been at AKL in many years. From what I am reading, the club level rooms are on floor 4? And the club is actually on floor 6? If I change my ressie to Jambo will it automatically be on floor 6 AND include the club? When I start a new ressie to get more info, the Jambo doesn't say that it includes the club...but some of what I've read implies that it does.....can anyone clarify this for me. We would rather be on the same floor as the club. Thanks so much!!

too many WDW trips to mention, 2007 Wonder Concierge, January 2013 Wonder Concierge, March 2014 Walter E. Disney Suite (finally!!!!)

Jambo is the name of the entire building so I don't see how you could change to Jambo. You are already there. I believe all the rooms on the club floor (with the lounge) are DVC rooms now.

The pp is correct. Jambo is the name of the building, with the CL floor consisting of DVC units. Unless you booked a DVC unit (studio, 1 bedroom villa, etc), your room will not be on the same floor as the lounge.

Ok, so if I want to be on floor 6 then I just change my room to a DVC Jambo villa, right?

We stayed there CL two weeks ago. We expected a room on the 4th floor Arusha savanna. However, we ended up 2nd floor Arusha savanna. AKL's computers were down all day so maybe that is why. We actually got better views of the animals (we think).

Honestly, are there even DVC rooms on the 6th floor? I'm honestly not sure about that and others know better. i didn't notice rooms?? There are no regular club level rooms there for sure -- like pp said.

No, you won't want to do that; you'll lose access to the club level lounge. There are very, very few AKV villas that are club level, and you'll never see those available for a cash reservation. They're booked by members the instant their booking window opens.

According to Allearsnet.com, there are club level rooms on both the 5th and 6th floor of Jambo House. None on the 4th floor. The 6th floor is exclusively club level.

I thought all DVC rooms were on the CL floor, but according to the Disney site, studios and villas can be booked without CL, so it looks like some of the DVC units are on other floors as well. With that said, if you booked a studio, 1 bedroom villa, etc that included CL, I would think you would be on the lounge floor. I would tell you to ask CRO when you call, but a lot of CMs don't give out correct information, so what you're told could or could not be true :sad2:. Hopefully someone with more information about the villas in Jambo will have some input.

Most of the DVC at AKL is at Kidani -- not Jambo. If you want DVC and CL at AKL you will be at Jambo but like a pp said these are taken by DVC members. There are not very many of them. The rest of the regular AKL CL are on the 4th floor Jambo House Arusha savanna room. They are regular rooms. Not any bigger than a std room.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for everyone's input....when I look at DVC Jambo on the booking website it does NOT list club level at all. Since losing club access is a deal breaker I think I will stick with my current ressie and take whatever floor I get, lol!
Thanks again!

And don't forget about the Sunrise Safari only available to AKL CL guests. We highly recommend it. It is on Thursdays and Sundays. Book early if you're interested. When we were there they had people trying to get in but it was sold out.

Thanks for the reminder.....we have done this 3 times....are they still doing the sunset safari? I think we need to try that one!!

I know they do a safari in the evenings around the AKL savannas. I believe dinner at Jiko is included. This safari has a more restrictive age limitation I believe. I think this is the sunset safari. I believe it is open to anyone staying at AKL (not just club level like the Sunrise Safari).

In Jambo House, there are two floors with DVC villas. On the sixth floor, there are five two bedroom lockoff villas (meaning a studio connected to a one bedroom and they can be reserved as a studio, a one bedroom or a two bedroom lockoff). Three are savanna view (partially blocked by the roof overhang) and two are pool view. At least is one handicap accessible. These are concierge level villas since they are located on the same floor as the concierge lounge.

The fifth floor at JH is almost 100% DVC villas, but not concierge level villas. Studios, one bedroom, two bedroom lockoff villas and three bedroom Grand Villas. There are no dedicated two bedroom villas at JH. There are also a few deluxe room/suites on the fifth floor. The fifth floor used to be concierge/club level hotel rooms before the renovation to DVC villas.

At Kidani Village, all the villas are DVC villas, studios, one bedroom, two bedroom and grand villas. There are no hotel rooms at KV, just DVC villas, and no concierge access at all.

Thanks. I assumed all the DVC villas/rooms at Jambo were club villas. I know when I first started planning I was lost. I learned from the experts on this board.

Are the deluxe rooms/suites on the 5th floor concierge level?

4th Floor CL was what we had last November. Loved it! Worth the price again? Not sure.

The sunset safari is also called the Wanyama Safari and is indeed open to all guests at AKL. It includes dinner at Jiko after the safari and I'd highly recommend it. The minimum age requirement is eight years old.

We booked CL last year for that reason alone. Well worth it at least once.
