Is it wrong to not feel depressed about being home?

We came home yesterday, and we had a terrific time. When we came home last year everyone was depressed about coming home, but this time no one except DD-7 is sad about coming home. DH said, before we left WDW, that we could start planning next years trip, so DD-16 and I know we are going back soon. Maybe it is the knowing we are going back that is making me feel not so depressed about coming home. Thanks for listening, had to get it off my shoulders.

I don't think so. It depends on things going on in your life. Sometimes not having anything to look forward to can make you feel depressed after a fun-filled vacation. Right now, I'm a little depressed because I just mailed the check for our cc payment (went to DW in May). But I'll get over it. ;)

Perhaps your vacation has achieved it's purpose of refreshing and renewing you.

I beleive it is because you are planning another trip. I know that we have already started talking about when the next trip would be and we haven't even left for this one yet.

I say even if it is a little far off, having at least a room only ressie made makes it seem really official. It's easier to save for it too.

I knew I was going to be depressed after our trip - which hasn't happened yet - so I booked another long weekend before our AP's expire. Now, talk to me in October. If I'm depressed, it'll be b/c we're not going back. But if I'm NOT depressed, it'll because we know we'll be returning!

We got home late last night, but I think our whole family agrees it is good to be home. We had a great time, but we were exhausted!

Hiya :wave2:

I do get depressed when arriving home but more to do with imminent return to work rather than holiday over.

I love going on holiday to WDW or otherwise but I do love coming home to rainy 'ol England and seeing my mum & friends again, normal tv and most of all sleeping in my own bed!

It usually doesn't wait until we get home either. I starts on our last day when it is time to check out. We see all the happy people arriving with their whole vacation ahead of them. Suddenly, a slight tinge of jealousy and a little sadness emerge.

I have found that planning the next trip helps in the adjustment phase once I get home. It usually takes a couple weeks to get back into reality.

DH says he's had enough mouse for a few years - THAT depresses me (why am I still on these boards? Never give up ;) he might come round sooner than he thinks!)

Trying to work out a smaller trip to DLP to tide me over - but not til next year. :bitelip:
