Hi,
Has anyone been to the DVC get together on DCL?
We are DVC members, and will be going on the Easter Cruise.
Is it worth the time to attend the DVC meeting on the ship?
We have no plans at this time to add on any more points.
I heard that we may receive a gift for attending the meeting?
Do they have appetizers, how long is the meeting, etc.?
We are very PRO DVC, but just don't want to waste precious time from our cruise.....
Thanks in advance for any help.
Doug

I think it was worth it. My wife and I came away with a couple of hats just for going. Then they did trivia and we won some more stuff :)....It took a little over a hour and they had drinks and cakes and stuff :) If you have the time do it

We attended the DVC meeting and had fun, we won a few DVC items and learned some things about DVC that we didn't know. We weren't interested in adding on points as we added on twice in the previous three months before our cruise. It was worth the time for DW and I.

There are a couple of meetings. The members party is like most member updates--free drinks, some minimal munchies, DVC trivia games for prizes (some good, some junk). Usually everyone gets a hat or something. Any new information is announced.

You will also be invited to attend the sessions of people interested in DVC--they like to have members there to provide an unbiased answer to questions. Again, there is a door prize just for members...usually something reasonably nice. There's another door prize for non-members and misc. small prizes for answering questions.

So...is it worth the time? It depends on what else is happening at the same time. DD loved the door prize we got once--mouse pad, carry bag, towel, etc. Nothing really exciting, but neat to a kid. If it's cold and windy, it's worth attending....warm and wonderful, probably not.

We've been to both the members only party and the info session and thought they were both fun and worth it. Take a look at the navigator and if you don't see something else going on then go to the DVC presentations - you'll have fun.

My husband and I bought into the DVC on our first cruise. We attend at least ONE usually two member meetings every Florida trip. You can bet we'll be attending every Dvc function we can on the cruise.

How are you notified of the DVC meetings? Is it a special invitation or is it in the Navigator somewhere? Do you have to be cruising on points to attend? Are they held on both ships?

We are DVC members but, since we are not cruising on points, can't see how anyone would know to invite us. If it is in the Navigator, however, then we can just look for it.

If you are cruising on points, you get an invitation in your cabin. If you are a DVC member but paying cash for cruise, stop by the DVC desk on deck 4, and they will give you an invitation. It is also listed in the Navigator. We've never needed to show our invite.
