Is it worth the extra points at the Disneyland Hotel?

I reserved a standard view studio at the Disneyland Hotel for my daughter next February. It would cost a total of 20 extra points for the premium view. Does anyone have info or opinion as to whether or not it is worth the 20 extra points for the premiun view? :confused3

I take it there weren't any villas available at GC?

When I stayed in a premium view room in 8/08 I was on a top floor of the Magic Tower with a view of the pool. Some premium views may give you a view of the fireworks but not all will. If you knew that your DD could see the fireworks every night, it might be worth the 20 points.

Personally, I would get on the waitlist for GC and hope something opens up. My family doesn't like DLH but they are hotel snobs. :rotfl2:

Good luck and you are a nice Dad to treat your DD! :goodvibes

I have to agree...but then the Grand Cali is DH and my absolute favorite Disney hotel. It is breath-taking and right in the middle of all the fun.

I would try for a studio at VGC also. From what I've seen on the boards there are no bad views there.

Since you've already booked the room at DLH and the points are now reservation points I wouldn't think waitlisting for GCV would be an option of your choosing.

DLH isn't on top of either of the parks (personally I think that PP theme park view may be better than the DLH premium if you're simply talking views. And I like PP).

If I had extra points to spare I might give it a try. If I was tight, probably not. There are no true balcony's so it's not like you can sit out and watch things and they are in the process of removing the little ledges they called balcony's anyway so it will be just windows.

Here's a pic of the DLH I took that could be considered a premium view room. I took it from DTD in early Oct and you can see the refurb going on.

The other view could be towards the pool, but again, no balcony's. Only the Grand has those.

It's been a few years ago, but I used my points for a Disneyland view at the Disneyland Hotel and found that I had a great view of the Downtown Disney area and the park itself. You would be able to see the fireworks from your room if you are on the park side of the tower as the picture in the previous post shows.

I would use the extra points for the view.

I used it for my honeymoon, and we splurged for a concierge room. That was awesome.

Most of our standard view rooms at the DLH have been viewing the parking lot in the Wonder tower (farthest of the 3 towers). I prefer the premium view rooms.
