Just booked the free dining at AS Movies. Was hoping to get the cheaper standard room, and could've gotten it at AS Music, but DD loves Buzz. Please help me to justify the extra $$ for the same, cookie cutter room. I know they say the preferred rooms are closer to food court, busses, etc, and I should know this by now, but just how much "closer" are they?

If you go to allearsnet.com they have a picture of the layout of the resorts. You'll see the pref rooms are much closer to the pool, foodcourt and buses. I think you'll enjoy it. PLUS, you may actually BE in the Toy Story section. How coold will that be for your family.:goodvibes

Don't book it just because you want a Toy Story room----I did that when we went because my DS loves Buzz and Woody and they can't guarantee that you'll end up in that section. So I ended up paying a preferred price for Dalmations, which was "ok", but it still wasn't Toy Story. They can note you want that section, but it's not a guarantee.

When I called, they were out of Standard rooms at ASMo. :( So we moved to POP Standard. I figure it won't be a big deal.. we're only there to sleep.

We're paying the extra for the Toy Story Building for our trip in Nov. We stayed there the last time we went ( it wasn't preferred then) and it was the perfect location. They won't guarantee the specific building when you book preferred, but I think it happens in most cases.

Normally, I'd say, not it is not worth the extra cost....but with free dining...I'd say go for it...especially if its all that is left to get. I think you'll be happy with it.

If the preferred room at AS Movies is $135.60, how much would is a standard room? Same thing happened to me,when I called this morning.... I just really didn't know what the price difference was?

Does anyone else know?:wizard:

For our 10 night trip, we will be paying 135.60 more in total to be in the preferred buildings. The standard would have been 1132.41, had it been available. When I originally called, they did have a standard available at the Music, and I didn't check any other resorts. Our cost with the preferred room, 1 day base ticks, and of course FREE DINING  , for 2A, 1C, is 1268.01. I'll continue to check to see if they release more standard rooms at the Movies, and switch.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, sorry, I had no idea!!! :lmao: I feel pretty silly now!!!
Thank you for making that clear ......

I plan to switch to Movies Preferred from Music if I can on Thurs with free dining, because of the following reasons:

We have been there and like the decor better. Preferred rooms are closer, and after you have to walk so far for the bus, the last thing you want to do is walk some more. We had a bad time at Music the one time we stayed there (Dancers and cheerleaders) and the place still gives me a bad taste.

Word of warning, we have always been put in Dalmations. I don't even let my DS know Toy Story is an option. He is fine with just visiting Andy's Room.

Went to POFQ last October and loved it for its size, etc. especially with 3 young children. Husband and I went in January for the marathon and stayed at ASMu and stayed about as far as one could be in the country section. I would NEVER stay that far from the food court and pool with children.
