becoming a shareholder?

am going 2 disney 4 1st time 1st week of june.
i was browsing through the dis boards and noticed a few threads on shareholding!

the discounts are brilliant! is it woth me buying say 5 shares so i can have the discount off meals and gifts at disney?

also i know u get access 2 salon mickey? what is this? is it a cafe where u get discounted drinks or summin just 4 shareholders??

please let me know what you think as every penny counts and if it even saves me a few quid i think it will be worth it!

what exactly do u get discount on?

thank you

I'd say it is worth it but I'd buy the 20 shares instead.

Yesterday I paid £58 for 20 shares. If you were to buy 5 you would be looking at around £26 plus the £30 joining fee making your total £56, for £58 you'd have 20 shares and be able to join the club for free!!

You get entrance to Salon Mickey, discounted hotels and park tickets and 15% off in shops and restuarants too.

Sorry to butt into your thread. Im thinking about becoming a shareholder.

So say I bought 20 shares would me and my other half both be able to get entrance to Salon Mickey. Also with discounts on hotels, can you use the discount in conjunction with any other offers e.g the 40% off?

Could you point me in the right direction to buy shares please?

Discounts can't be used together I'm afraid.

I got mine through selftrade.co.uk :goodvibes

So is it not worth having APs AND being a shareholder ?

just deciding what to do or not, when our APs run out in august!

not going again til Oct (unless i can convince hubby on a trip before aug, to get another trip out of them ;) )

and havent sponsored anyone yet :( so doubt we will get APs again :(

I'm an AP holder and a shareholder.

I get a 20% discount in shops through my Dream AP, but the discount for shareholders in Restuarants, 15% is better than the 10% I get as an AP holder.

I get better rates for hotels as an AP holder but get access to Salon Mickey and a discount in the Disney Stores in the UK as a shareholder.

If you were to become a shareholder you get 15% off of AP's too :goodvibes

For me I think it's worth being both

With the shares being so inexpensive to buy at the moment, I completely agree with Cap'n - I'm now in the same position (and had forgotten about the shareholder discount on AP's - thanks for that :thumbsup2 )

We travel to both disney paris and orlando yearly and im wondering if i buy shares am i only buying shares in DLP? Or will i be able to use my shareholders card in Disney Orlando and get 15% off there also?

Many Thanks.

No you are buying shares in the Paris company only. The American companies trade under different share names.
