is it worth joining the AAA

well actually it would be the AA as i'm in the UK but a UK AA membership is recognised by the AAA. I don't actually need the cover as my husband has cover already included with his company car. It will cost me £40 (approx$70) but for my next trip we are planning on 21 nights onsite (probably 11 nights CSR, 10 nights AKL savannah view) do you think it would be worth it for the AAA discounts or not. I will probably be getting a car in the next year or so anyway so will need breakdown cover then

Also when do they release the discounts for AAA, we are planning to return in september 2007 (i know ages away but i have to be planning another trip or it makes me go mad)

It has been for us. When we can't use AP, or other discounts, AAA has saved us 10-15% per night in the Deluxe Resorts. Really, quite a substantial savings vs. no discount.

Plus, with Me, DW, and DD18, DD17 all driving, we have used AAA roadside services on multiple occasions.

We saved around $300-400 dollars by going thru AAA. We are staying AKL for 6nights. We were able to price the trip before we actually purchased membership. Give that a try and you see for yourself if it is worth it. When we joined the travel discount was immediate, but the car/towing stuff wouldn't start till the next day.

AA membership gives you discounts at universal, busch and seaworld. Also factor in that UK members get cheap 21 day passes so It works out better to get room only over a package deal.

yes i must admit our 21 day passes are fantastic value at £180 for 21 day unlimited entrance to parks, water parks, as much hoppping, plus visits as you want, although you can't make them non expiry.

We'd not be without it... it saves us so much money and comes in so handy for the roadside coverage (I have a 75 mile roundtrip commute every day). The fact that it saves us a bundle at WDW is the icing on the cake.

For 21 nights, the AAA rate (or AA rate) would save you several hundred dollars. For the time of year you're going, you're looking at saving at least $500, probably more.

If you call and book your trip as soon as 2007 rates come out, you should be fine. What I would do is book it immediately when they come out (probably around the summer), and ask at that time whether AAA rates have come out. If they have, just book them. If they have not, just book anyway, and then watch mousesavers and this board and as soon as they do come out for 2007, call back and ask to have them applied.

I agree. We have had it for 20 yrs and would not be without it. You also get a 10% discount at Landry's restaurants which helps as well. We have saved a lot on our rooms alone.

We just joined AAA and rebooked our trip with them.
We upgraded from our Disney reservations and still got a very nice refund..
