Is it Worth It?

If we're talking standard rooms at both, I don't find much difference between the value and moderates. CSR and CBR have so many bus stops if your looking to take the bus everywhere it will add more time and somethign to consider.

Personally I wouldn't. I would spend the money elsewhere. We just took a short trip and got a great deal on a value resort. We were barely in the room at all, only to sleep at night. The room was nice and clean. If I am taking a longer trip where I am spending more time in the room, I would spring for the upgrade. I say spend the money on a nice dinner or something.

I just upgraded from POFQ to WL for 8 nights - trip begins Saturday. For me, obviously, it's worth it. The magical feeling I experience at WL is closely approximated at WL -- I love the atmosphere there more than any other resort. It's a highlight of our vacation, not just a place to sleep.

Absolutely worth it. Stayed 1 night at Art of Animation and that was enough of the value resorts for me for a lifetime!

I'm not sure there is anything to consider here other than the beds. If you're fine with the full beds go value. If you're not going to be at the resort to experience the "upgraded amenities" then pocket the cash!

Would you spend the extra money for a moderate vs a value when you are only going for 1 or 2 nights and spending the majority of your time in the parks or visiting other resorts?

When I'm solo I have tended to stick with Value because I'm a commando type tourer and don't need a high level of stay. But I really like trying new resorts. I've now done all the Values and two each of the Mods and Deluxes.

That being said I love the Port Orleans resorts French Quarter being my favorite. If it was more than just me I'd upgrade to at least a Mod.

I would for the queen beds, because I don't do doubles, and I don't want to exist in a world where my kids are sharing a double with either each other, or with me.

:confused3 Okay...
just back from 4 nights at All Star Music our room was over 3 blocks away!! I didn't even want to go back during the day as I knew then I wouldn't want to leave it was very far and all of the moderates I have stayed had a preferred location well worth it!!
All of the Values have a Preferred location.

Trust me. Sharing a double bed with my younger child is a lot like sleeping with a perpetually-running egg beater. I've done it. I will not do it again. I can afford not to do it again.

It's no better for her dad, and she even manages to be a problem with her sibling, who is non-adult so in theory there's more bedspace between 'em. The kids in a queen works a lot better, and 3 sleeping surfaces is our happy place.

100% without a shadow of a doubt, YES. But then I personally can't stand value resorts.

Every time! Will not go back to a value resort for any reason. POR is our moderate of choice always. In fact stayed there in the spring & only did DTD & the resort!!
..

No, I wouldn't. The room is just a place we sleep most of the time. Unless we are there for an event or will be at the resort more then we normally are we just go for the cheapest room we can find on property. For a short trip like you are describing it is juts as likely we will stay off property as on.
