Is it worth it?

We're planning a trip in October for 5 days and I've been contemplating a split stay between our "home" resort All Star Sports and the Swan (or Dolphin). We've never done split stays so we don't know how big of a problem it could be. I could see us doing a morning in the park and using the "break" in the afternoon to check out, and head over to Swan and check in for the rest of our stay and then head to Epcot for the Food and Wine. It sounds so good in my head but I'm still on the fence about it.

My question is.. Is it worth it for our short stay to do this option or is it not worth it?

I have done several split stays and always found them to be worth it.

The only thing I can say about your plan is that you consider checking out of your first resort before heading to the parks for the day. Most places have a checkout of 11AM. Also, since Swan is not a Disney resort, you will likely need to arrange for your luggage to be moved over there.

Sounds like a great idea to me! B'walk area during Food and Wine sounds great to me!

We have done some split stays at the DVc resorts but 5 days seems like a short stay to do this . I would bag hassle of moving and enjoy that time at parks. My 2 cents. Have a great time!

Swan & Dolphin do participate in split stay luggage transfer both to & from Disney resorts - I've done it both ways! So no worries there.

I think your plan sounds great! We've done split stays on trips as short as 4 nts. We love to have the experience in 2 different resorts, but that's just us. We only travel with carry-on bags & don't unpack at each resort. We're comfortable doing it that way.

Just don't forget that you won't be eligible for ME back to MCO when staying at S/D, you have to arrange & pay for that transportation yourself.

We don't use ME, we drive down since I'm terrified of planes and we can handle our luggage (since we pack fairly light). Our plan is to put our luggage in the hold area of All Stars or even check out/check in and walk over to DHS for EMH in the morning.
