Is it worth it to pay for All Star Preferred or not?

We are going in August, 1st week of the value season. We agreed to get a preferred area of all star movies for an additional $10.oo a night. I just wondered if its really worth it to pay for that. In '99 I don't remember any room locations being bad at AllStar Sports. What do you guys think?

When I was there last Nov. I lucked out and had Jazz which is the second building in and it was great!! Last month I was further back in Broadway which still, to me, wasn't that bad. Yes, it was a bit of a hike at the end of the day, but it was by the quieter pool. The only time I was in the room was for the night so it wasn't worth it to me, but if you have small children, then it might be a good thing. It's really up to you on if it's worth the extra $10.

Hope this helps!! :)

We stayed at ASMO in September, and personally, I wouldnt pay extra for a certain room there. Everything seemed pretty compact to me(I had previously stayed at DXL 2x...HUGE!). We walked from our room in TS to the Mighty Ducks pool at the other end in probably about 7 minutes(thats with 2 kids, carriage, bags, etc..). Im not sure how far out Love Bug buildings were, but I dont think they could be much more distance.
We really enjoyed ASMO very much, and even though we got our first choice of Toy Story, if we had gotten our 2nd choice of Mighty Ducks, I wouldnt have felt that was too far away from anything either.

We stayed at Love Bug (farthest one out) last time, and it couldn't have been more than a two minute walk to the main building. Unless you have real trouble with walking, like severe arthritis or something, I don't think the difference between a 20 second walk and a two minute walk justifies $10 a night.

I wouldn't pay the extra $10/night either. If it was for a truly nicer "view", like the difference between garden and lagoon view, i'd consider it. But since its mainly a "location" thing, I'd just take my chances. You can always still request a room in a certain building that would still get you closer to the main one but isn't a preferred building.

I actually think that the Toy Story and Dalmatian sections are just as close to the main building as the preferred building (Fantasia) is. Plus, with staying in Fantasia, you have to contend with the noise from the pool, which is packed until pretty late at night. In my opinion, I wouldn't pay any extra for that location because the whole resort is reasonably compact.

I would not pay the extra $ for a preferred building - especially at Movies. Music maybe but the layout for Movies is so good, that even if you end up in the furthest building, it is not a long walk. I would try for Toy Story or Dalmatains.

We've stayed at the Movies twice now, and I don't think it would be worth it to pay an extra $10 a night for any of the rooms. We didn't feel the hotel was that spread out. We've stayed in Love Bug & Dalmations. We LOVE this hotel!!!
The only way I would do Preferred view would be if someone in my party had difficulty in walking and/or was in a wheelchair.
