Is it worth it to carry Pal Mickey?

I have a new Pal Mickey and I'm just wondering how you go about doing some of the wet rides like splash mountain with him? I won't have a bag, just a fanny pack and will hang him off that probably....so how does everyone else protect him? Also, when we arrive in WDW, do we have to somehow activate pal mickey? If so, where do we do that.

GREAT QUESTION! One I hadn't even thought of, so I'm glad you brought it up before my trip in 8 days!!!

I think I'll pick up a box of those larger ziploc bags and carry one of them folded up in my pack.

I don't think his rain poncho will help out there as much I'd like to think....

I have no idea about the wet rides. Maybe you wear a poncho and just have him under it?

As for activating, I think you just be sure he is on and facing outward as you enter a park.

Some days, we bring him with us when we leave in the morning, and when we get back to the hotel in the afternoon for our swim break, he chills out in the room til we get back. Sometimes he likes to sleep late in the morning, so he comes with us in the evening on our trip back to the parks!

We love Pal Mickey. We had the old one that we brought on every trip. Some trips he didn't make it into the park very much. On our last trip, my son brought him every day- he was quite attached to him. One night at the MK, he forgot him at the hotel and was very bummed. I did something out of character for me- I went into a gift shop and bought him a new one.

I had been wanted the newer one and it made my son so happy! Right after we got home from our trip is when they announced that they won't be selling Pal Mickey anymore. I am really glad I got one.

They don't sell them anymore. I just happened to run across this thread, as my DD & DW were talking about if they should bring him. Sounds like we're going to, and my DD will be very happy to hear she as such a special toy that isn't sold anymore.
