Is it worth it? DC free BB preview

We received the voucher for the BB preview in Buffalo on 10/25 at 10 am. I know they send out many more vouchers than they really have space for. Does anyone know if it is worthit to attempt to go and how far ahead of movie time should I be there by? It is about a 45 minute drive and at 10AM and I don't want to go if I'm going to have to get up at like 6am to "get in". Anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

I guess it would depend on the movie. We went to see Treasure Planet in Philadelphia and the theater was only about 1/3 full. It was Disney Club members and some company that gave their employees free movie passes. We got there at about 9:30 and they didn't let people in until about 9:50. (It was about 30 degrees that day and a little cold to stand in line.)

Brother Bear will be the 4th movie we have seen like this and we have never been in a theater that was full. Usually one third or less. I say go for it, not often you get to see a movie for free.

Thanks Ratpack, I was thinking the same thing--how often do I get something for free from Disney?
Disney Ella, I can live with a full theater even! I just wouldn't want to be turned away.
Thanks for the input, I'll go, but with a back-up plan in case they are full (some other excursion that the kids can enjoy).

We got in to see Santa Clause 2 and Treasure Planet and we were late to both. We may not have gotten the best seats in the house but we still had some seats, lol. We are going Sat to Brother Bear here in Houston and Im really going to try to make it early this time (yeah right ). Im hoping to get one to the Haunted Mansion movie coming out as well. Trying to take the last bit of advantage I can out of my DC membership.

We were at the BB preview in Glendale,CA on saturday and the theater was about 3/4 full. This was the Los Angeles DC showing and all bags were being searched before entering the theater. Movies here are $8.00 for kids and almost $12.00 for adults, so we made a point of attending. We had about a 40 minute drive and arrived at the theater 20 mins early.

UPDATE: We went and it was totally worth it! The theater was not even half full and really no line at all. We left the house about 8:50 am, arrived at about 9:25, were allowed into the lobby at 9:30 and into the theater at 9:40. I would do this again in a heartbeat! The movie was excellent. For the first time in a long time I felt like the animated feature was "whole" not missing any key element that would make it a disappointment for hard core Disney fans. The extended preview for the farm movie was really cute, hopefully they didn't pre-view their best material. Thanks everyone for the input--I don't know what I was thinking--guess I just didn't want to get up early and drive a good distance to find I wouldn't be let in!

I just returned from seeing "Brother Bear" in Chicago. We got there at 9:20 and were first in line! The theater was less than half full - which surprised me. I liked the movie after having seen it all, but wasn't too sure about the beginning, as I wasn't expecting such sadness.

We saw it too in the Boston area! It was very good.

The theater wasn't full.

I noticed the DC rep we had invited ALL her family and friends. I'd say half the theater was with her!

I also noticed many parties we're quite large; more than 4 and more than 8. I think they just printed out 2 or more of the certificates and I also noticed at our theater they did not check my DC membership or ID.

Great experience and I really hope I get to see Haunted Mansion this way!

They didn't check ID's at our showing either. Some people had definitely printed more than one, as the woman in front of me had 7 kids with her!!!! The theater was so full that they actually started moving people to the next screen over and showed the movie on both screens! We loved the movie, but there sure were some sad parts.

We were at Chicago too this morning.. we left at 8:30 expecting a huge line and lots and lots of familieas., got to the theater about 9:30 and were 4 familes back from the front.. the theater was really only 1/2 - 3/4 full. Although it got more crowded after 10 am..They did not check ID's but security was strict regarding bringing in canmera or camcorders..The movie was really good and we laughed at the preview for the ranch movie.. we will be on the cruise the week of MArch 20, so my kids were thinking that we will see the movie on the Magic.

We saw it in Houston. This was the first one I have been to where they checked us with wands to make sure we didnt have any cameras. Then they read the no filming warning. The theater was abotu 1/2 to 3/4 full. I was hoping to see a Haunted Mansion preview but we didnt. The movie was good but kind of sad to me.
And this time after the movie we didnt get anything. Before I had gotten a poster and another time they gave out stickers.

I was ID'd at the Buffalo one, and I was asked how many were in my party and that was noted as well. There were only about 13 names on the list, but there were many people attending that had bumpersticker sized passes that they must have rec'd as a promotional giveaway or something. This is the first time I did a DC preview, but others previews I attended I have been given freebies, nothing at all at this one. Though I didn't expect anything I thought that they might hand out stickers or posters. I hope that I will be able to see HM this way as well

Great.......another sad movie!?! I thought Nemo was too sad, I really don't even want to buy it. DD & DH liked it, I know from the first 10 minutes it would be too sad for my liking! I was really looking forward to seeing Brother Bear too.

I have a few questions: this the first time that I've requested free preview tickets from DC.

I sent the email from the DC website this morning for the Haunted Mansion movie....will I get a email response with a certificate, etc? Will this come soon or will I have to wait closer to the time of the preview - 11/22?

I'm really upset that I didn't know about the BB movie preview...my DD's would have loved to see it first (and I would have loved not having to pay for it!! LOL).

They will send you an e-mail with an attachment that is the invitation--just print it out and take it with you. They usually a week or 2 before the time. I havent rec'd mine yet but I will post when I do.
