Is it worth going to Sci-Fi Dine-In for the atmosphere?

I'm not a huge fan of the food there, but its a wonderful place to get some AC and have a snack.

This is by far one of my family's favorite restaurants.

I don't know why people always complain about the food because I have never eaten anything there that I haven't loved.

One trip we even ate there twice.

Sci-fi is a must-do for us. The food is pretty good if you stick to the basics. I think the burgers are good and my kids love the typical kids stuff and the shakes. But you really go for the atmosphere. It's dark, you sit in a car and watch movie clips from really cheesy sci-fi and horror movies. My kids (6 and 4 last time we were there) love it.

Sorry, have to do this, and this in no way reflects how I feel about Sci-Fi, but I have to do this everytime there is a post about Sci-fi in case Disney Mgt. is reading: PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CHANGE THE MOVIE CLIPS. I am pretty sure they are the same ones from when the restaurant opened in the early nineties.

I agree my boys love the atmosphere and the burgers and shakes were fine.

We love the atmosphere at Sci-Fi Dine In! It's become a must do on every trip. The food is mediocre at best but the experience rates right up there for us!

Each time we've eaten there we've never had an ADR and always got a reservation. We simply walk up around 11AM and ask for a lunch reservation for around 12 or 12:30. We've never been turned away, even during the free food promos. I would imagine dinner reservations are harder to come by though.

My family also really enjoys Sci-Fi Dine In. I agree with the previous posters about sticking to the basics. Get the burgers, fries and onion rings and you won't be disappointed. The atmosphere is great with the waitstaff yelling at the screen and rolling aroudnd on roller skates. Lot's of fun. You have to try it at least once.
