so i have been itching and itching to get back to florida since we got back 2 weeks ago but i got thinking after seeing free dining dates about going next year in october half term

is it worth going for 8 or 9 nights ??

i think it would be fine but has anyone done this and how did you cope with jet lag etc ??

i was plannin a big trip back in 2 years but was thinking about going next year and then 2 years after that to celebrate my daughter leaving school ??

any thoughts much appreciated x

We did 7 nights in 2008 to plan our wedding and we got on fine, did Disney only once I think as we didn't have passes, I would do a week again

We often go for a week, did a 7 night trip in Feb. Next trip in August will be 23 nights but now looking for flights for Oct for another 7 or 8 nights.
If at all possible I prefer 9 nights but when DS only has 1 week of school thats not always possible.

I surprised my Mrs with 4 nights for our 5th anniversary and it was great. Did MNSSHP and stayed in Celebration Hotel. Brilliant.

Now both kids are in school we're going to have to start considering the odd week if we want to go more than once a year.

we didnt cope with the jetlag too well when we came back but i think that was because we made the fatal mistake of going to sleep at about half twelve and then a few hours turned into 7 !! oopsie

was thinking of going out on the friday and back on the saturday so we would have 8 nights there

wouldnt need that much spending money as we went souvenier mad this year

plus i would like to see the halloween stuff - do you have to buy seperate tickets for mnsshp ??

am seriously considering booking cant beliebve disney has me hooked this badly lol

We've done a week twice and 10 days once and I felt that the jet lag wasn't as bad as it is with longer trips. Absolutely loved it and would go again for a shorter break in an instant if the opportunity arose. :goodvibes

Having said that, of all our trips my favourite has to be the 5 weeks we spent last summer ;) Roll on the 7th July for us! :yay:

Mrs TT

I have done a week a few times last time In may I got no jet lag at all I find its the longer trips I get jet lag from :)

That is what we did last year and have never suffered like we did with jetlag before. To be honest, we are pretty much unaffected by the time change when we arrive there so it is only coming back that hits us and I don't think it would be any different whether we stayed 7 days or 21 days. Given the choice of going for a shorter trip or not at all, I would take the shorter trip. :lmao:

Yes, separate tickets required but totally worth it in my opinion!!

You'd better believe it!! :rotfl2:

well i am off out tonight so i am currently sorting out my plan of attack on DH ;)

i am cooking him his favourite dinner then i thought i would be the dutiful wife and run him a bath before we go out then after dinner when i am looking spectacular i will ask him what he thinks of my little idea

and if that doesnt work i will make all his vodkas doubles tonight :rotfl2::rotfl2:

i think it would be great to go back and then once we have it booked know that we have to save !

Hi,

Due to work commitments my friends and my partner are only able to take one week off. Would we be able to fit all the experience into one week?

TIA:)

You'll not fit everything in, but it's still worth a damn good try!!!! You can't fit everything in in 3 weeks, so don't worry. Just plan your 'must dos' and have a really great time.

Just merged this thread with a similar question that was asked this morning, my response is now above.:goodvibes

I've been nine times to Florida - only once have I had more than a week in Orlando ... and my last 5 trips have been for a week only ... it's worth it, yes, you can't do everything but it is well worth it

We have done 5, 7, 8, 9 & 14 nights. We have enjoyed each and every trip regardless of the length.

On the short trips we just hit our favourites but we never rush round we always take an afternoon break back at the resort for a swim.

Definitely! I would go for even 5 nights to be honest, like others have said, I'd take a short trip over NO trip any day.

We've done several 1 week trips in the past - when flights were cheaper.

I seem to manage to spend just as much in a week as two though shopping wise.

We orignally booked for 10 nights, but changed it to 14 after we paniced we wouldnt get it all in! Were only doing the Disney parks so i think we would have been fine tbh, but its nice to think we have 2 weeks.

Thankyou! Sorry, I didn't see this thread when I posted mine!

The main reason I asked is because the couple we will be travelling with have never been to Disney before, so I was a little dubious about going for one week rather than two.

Would you recommend just sticking to Disney if you were only going for a week? We usually visit Universal and Sea World while we're there too...

Possibly just stick to Disney, while I wouldn't have any problem advising anyone with experience to go for only a week I think its very difficult for a 1st visit with so much to see & do.

I agree with this comment, for a first visit, 7-10 days isn't enough to do *everything* because you are still getting your bearings and getting used to the type of holiday (a lot more tiring than a week around the pool).

To the OP, we've done 9/10 days and it was my favourite trip. We managed to do everything we wanted to do (all Disney parks and water parks + Seaworld/Aquatica + Universal Orlando and + Busch Gardens), and so we feel we did 'everything'. As long as you accept that there may not be time to do repeats, or you may have to sacrifice something. I just had to plan more meticulously than previous trips. Then again, it might not be for everyone. I'd take an 8 hour flight for just one day at any park:lovestruc
