Is it worth getting the photopass?

One digital download (one picture) is, I think, $14 or $15. So it doesn't take long to add up and make MM worth it!

I would say no, but I'm not a picture person. I do have it with AP, but have never downloaded a photo.

That said, if you do want it, you should compare the price of buying MM with the cost of upgrading one ticket in your party to an AP. The math sometimes works out to make an AP "worth it" once you factor in parking fees, MM, merchandise/food discounts, ability to purchase TIW, etc.

This is a good point, it does make life easier to get family shots but Disney photographers (and strangers) will also take pictures with your own camera.
So people on a budget don't feel like it's a must.

We get it because it's included in the Annual passes that we have, otherwise we wouldn't spend the money for it.

"Worth it" is incredibly subjective. If you think about just the money side of things, you could get pictures from photopass photographers by handing them your own camera or phone, and they'll take the photos for free. So anyone needing to stick to a tighter budget can still get a lot of photos, with everyone in it. When we traveled just Mr. Barbanellie and I, I reasoned it was worth it to us to get it, because while I could get those photos for free, I knew Mr. B would complain and not want to stop for the photos. With MM, he felt we "had to get our money's worth" and was more willing to stop for multiple shots in front of the castle, tree of life, etc. :D

What you get in addition to the photographer shots are also the ride photos and videos. I would never pay specifically for ride photos, but they are tons of fun, and since we had MM, we have a few really awesome ride photos. Also, after a couple of rides, we started trying to "pose". I was never really good, but we had loads of fun trying to do it.

Only you can weigh the pros and cons and decide what is worth it for you. Now that we've had it, though, I'd have a hard time going to WDW without it!

We get the photopass every time. Since I am the usual picture taker it gives me a chance to be on the pics and make it look like I was actually there. Plus the ride pics are great. These are the pics that usually make it into our Disney trip collage and are great for my screen saver and trip video.

They make sense for us when we can almost spend the cost of the photopass in one Disney meal cost. The pics last a lot longer that the digestive time of the meal :crazy2:

Our next trip we plan on splitting with 2 other families so it def is more worth it cost-wise

Being a picture freak everywhere not just disney and I love photo albums not just photos on my phone to show off, the memory maker will be worth it, I've done the photo pass before this will be the 1st time for the MM.:thumbsup2
