is it worth getting Premier passport

We are heading over to WDW and DLR from Australia in August-Oct next year. At the moment we are looking at doing a cruise, followed by 10 nights at POFQ then heading over to DLR for probably 3 park days, then going to a few other places and stopping back at DLR for 3 nights before we leave. So all up about 16 or 17 disney days. The cost of the tickets alone would be about $800-$900. Just wondering if anyone has any idea if it would be worth spending the extra few hundred to get discounts on food, merch and possibly accommodation.
Any advise or questions i haven't thought about would be much appreciated.

My guess is...yes, but you have to do the math. We are long time AP'ers for DL and we upgraded for our first trip to WDW last month. One of the major reasons was being able to purchase the Tables in Wonderland card.

The TIW card is a discount card that you purchase for approximately $100. It gives you 20% off food and beverages (including alcohol) at most WDW table service restaurants for one year. you must be a Florida resident, DVC member, or Annual Passholder to purchase the TIW card. It does not work at DLR.

The DLR seems to give better AP discounts at restaurants than WDW, so even though the TIW card does not work on the west coast, the 15% off most table service AND counter service restaurants makes up for it.

I can't speak to WDW resort discounts, but we regular stay at the Grand Californian and the AP rate is ALWAYS the lowest rate (CALL for best rate -- online not always the lowest).

If you are looking to save money and you are not going to take a second trip within one year, you could purchase just one AP for the discounts and get regular tickets for the other person. Just know the AP holder will have to make all purchases and reservations.
